When I was young, I adored reading.

I was told: 'There are words... every word is an idea and when you know the word and the idea...it BELONGS to you!'

I became a glutton!!

I went to the library and asked if I could look at the books that ‘don't have pictures’.

The librarian (it was a small town) called my mother and asked what she should do.

My mother said “Give her what ever she wants to read.”

Thanks for the ping. As always, Carson’s piece is well-reasoned and well-written.

But, sadly, the truth is that the people who are not really informed do not love this country and are likely to continue on blithely with their obsession with entertainment. And the progressives are counting on their continued ignorance of the real issues.
