Thread for discussion of tonight's VA Gov Elecitons Result. Is this too early?
Good news, thanks.
How do you know where the adjustments are coming from? In the meantime, I need some comfort food.
Been watching the tweets from this guy-

He is kind of left leaning but good for informational purposes
OK...thanks.
Something the lib stations will not report.
No surely that’s all wrong, Cuccinelli is a right wing extremist that couldn’t possibly appeal to independents. /sarc
Brian Schoeneman - Secretary, Fairfax County Electoral Board
“What we’re doing right now is called a canvas of the votes. Mistakes can be made, so what we do after election day...we spend a couple days counting the votes, making sure everything is correct, double-checking and triple-checking all of our work so that when we certify the election we’re certifying the actual, final, and accurate results.”
“That process typically takes in Fairfax County about four or five days. We are anticipating being finished by Saturday.”
“Once that process is done we’ll certify the results, send those results to the state board of elections. The state board begins their canvas of the results on November 25th, and we have no idea how long that can take.”
“Reality is, Fairfax County is the largest jurisdiction in the Commonwealth of Virginia. We have about three times as many precincts as our nearest jurisdiction. So we have to be accurate and we have to be careful, and that takes time.”
“So we’re looking forward to doing a very thorough and efficient canvas and being out of here hopefully some time on Saturday.”

“To respond to rumors going around, there are zero - 0 - ZERO uncounted absentee ballots in Fairfax County. We completed our count last night”

Thats good news that the absentees are counted in Fairfax Co. because its tightening even more the last few hours.
Looks like Obenshain is going to net about 600 from Montgomery Co. D-5 an about 100 from Waynesboro Ward A. That should get the lead up closer to the +1000 mark.
That’s good news. But where are these votes coming from? I thought 100% were in.
100% of precincts are reported but there are always errors in the state board of elections websites and they do a canvass to correct them. They also count absentees and provisionals. Votes wont be certified until Nov 25 I believe.
Thanks, though with Democrats that makes me nervous. Although, on a positive note, I understand VA cleaned up their voter roles. Just hope they've paid sufficient attention to absentee ballots, loads of fraud there.
There are upsides:
1. It appears Mark Obenshain has the upper hand for the election to the second-most powerful position in the state, the AG. The counting appears to be complete and he's still standing, with a 681-vote lead.... which has been the case since last night.
2. The House of Delegates, now even more conservative, will be riding herd on McAuliffe from Day One, and all but the most innocuous aspects Fast Terry's agenda are dead in the water, gun control and Medicaid expansion among them.
3. After the massive (by some estimates 10-1) advantage in media advertising for the dems, after that massive infusion of Bloomberg million$, after all the demonization of Cuccinelli and the rest of the ticket... all they got was what amounts to a hollow 2.5% win for McAuliffe.
In summation, with the strong possibility of a conservative AG and a neutered McAuliffe, the takeaway is that national dems are shaking in their knickers about next year. They were expecting a massive blowout and a vindication of Obamacare... they didn't get it. And now it all shifts to 2014.
Amazing... they may be Christians, but they're obviously low-info types. This "I don't like either one" crap is what costs the GOP, because so much of it comes from erstwhile GOP voters or at least the demographic set that might support them.
Generally, when dems vote, it's not because they are actually applying much thought process to the issues... they just look for the (D) and follow it like moths to a light.
Same old story. Looks like the national election maps. 80% of the geography votes for the Republican, but the dems pull it out at the last hour.
When are We the People going to rebel against the Beltway Government Monopoly?
My condolences to Commuist-occupied Virginia. May she rise again!
Attorney General race update:
The lead for Obenshain has been see sawing back and forth since Wednesday morning. He has been anywhere from about 2,000 ahead to 200 behind.
The 3k Fairfax County absentees were finally tallied up and they went 69-31% for Herring. This cut his lead down from 1,300. Even with those Obenshain still leads by 140 votes.
Fairfax county demoncats are looking for that car trunk with all those missing absentee ballots.. They won’t rest until they find enough falsified, illegal and duplicate ballots to get their guy in. This is how they win.. not by voting but by counting.

The Rats need the AG position. It is the last state wide defense against the Clinton bag man McAullife and the coming looting of Virginia. The counting will continue until the GOPe gives up.
