'Purge surge': Obama fires another commander
World Net Daily ^ | F. Michael Maloof

Posted on 11/05/2013 9:19:14 AM PST by rarestia

After multiple top generals described to WND what they regard as a full-scale “purge” of the U.S. military by the Obama administration, the commander of U.S. Army Garrison Japan was summarily relieved of duty and his civilian deputy reassigned, pending a “misconduct” investigation.

Nine generals and flag officers have been relieved of duty under Obama just this year – widely viewed as an extraordinary number – and several sources put the total number of senior officers purged during the five years of the Obama administration as close to 200.

In response, prominent retired generals – ranging from Army Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely, a Fox News senior military analyst, to Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin, a founder of the Army’s elite Delta Force, to Medal of Honor recipient Maj. Gen. Patrick Henry Brady – have all gone on the record with WND, characterizing Obama’s actions as nothing less than an all-out attack on America’s armed forces.

According to U.S. Army Japan, Col. Eric Tilley was suspended from his job by Maj. Gen. James C. Boozer Sr., commander of U.S. Army Japan and I Corps (Forward) for a “lack of confidence” based on the results of an inquiry.

A spokesman for U.S. Army Japan, Maj. Kevin Toner, would not elaborate on what prompted a “lack of confidence,” saying it would be “inappropriate to make public the allegations because the investigation did not lead to findings of criminal misconduct.”

Tilley is to be replaced by Col. Joy Curriera.

Bush should have done this when he first took over from clinton.

+1, one of Bush's biggest mistakes IMHO.

If we can manage to get a conservative elected, there needs to be a PURGE of government officials in all departments the likes of which have never been seen in history.

"Bush should have done this when he first took over from clinton."

That was always a question in my mind, clouded over by the Sept 11 attack on America.

We all forgot about the embeds and they continued their dirty work.

Bush was no conservative. He held the belief that the right and left were just a few issues apart and could work with each other.

I’m pretty sure a mid-level Roman functionary will join us to assure us this is perfectly normal and nothing for us to worry our pretty little heads over.

You’ve posted this sentence numerous times. What does it mean?

Agree...

What many don’t realize is that the top CO’s are held to almost unattainable standards. Any misconduct that can even remotely be attributed to leadership typically results in said leadership being removed for “lack of confidence”.

Analagous to this...Used to be that if a dependent was, say, caught speeding or running a Stop sign, the active duty member was eventually brought to the 1st Sgt or CC and expected to “explain” why he had delinquent dependents. Silly, how is a jet mech, working on a jet during the incident supposed to know what his dependent was doing? Didn’t matter, as the “leader” of the household, it was the member’s responsibility to ensure his dependents were informed and followed the rules.

Thanks for the insight and some background on this “story”.

Well said. We need senior military leaders who will stand up to the progressive “guidance”. For example, “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” was working. It still would be if Adm Mullen had stood up for principle.

Strangely enough, it might be the NSA that saves us... Obama might not have total control of them yet. He’s got his boys in the press attacking them... which means they might not be compromised.

Replacing every commander in the military with ardent supporters is what every good socialist dictator does to consolidate power.
