Poll: Republicans divided on climate change (Dems in virtual lock-step)
Washington Examiner ^ | November 1, 2013 | Zack Colman

The GOP is divided on global warming, as seven in 10 Tea Party Republicans believe there's no solid evidence of a warming planet compared with three in 10 non-Tea Partiers, according to a Pew Research poll released Friday.

Overall, 46 percent of Republicans said there is no solid evidence of global warming, compared with 11 percent of Democrats.

Of those who see solid evidence of global warming, Republicans were nearly three times less likely (23 percent) to attribute it to human activity than Democrats (64 percent). That difference was more pronounced among Tea Partiers, 9 percent of whom said humans play a role in climate change compared with 32 percent of non-Tea Partiers.

Such beliefs are at odds with the overwhelming scientific consensus that burning fossil fuels are a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions that drive climate change.

The U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released a report in September that said scientists have 95 percent confidence — the same confidence rate for the finding that smoking causes cancer — that humans contribute to global warming.

But many congressional Republicans remain skeptical, or deny, that climate change is occurring.

The poll of 1,504 people between Oct. 9-13 from left-leaning Pew showed those attitudes stretch beyond Capitol Hill.

Overall, the poll said 67 percent of respondents believed there is solid evidence that global warming is happening. The split was 84 percent of Democrats and 46 percent of Republicans. The percentage of non-Tea Party Republicans who believed global warming was occurring was 61 percent.

“But many congressional Republicans remain skeptical, or deny, that climate change is occurring. “

Once again the issue is framed wrong. There is no evidence of Anthropogenic Global Warming. Besides, there has been no warming in over 12 years.

Easily explained. Ignorance is what drives the democratic movement.

Well, this means two things. One, the DemSocialists are really dumb and herd-able, and two, the Republicans are cowards.

How about "don't care and don't plan to use it as a ploy to seize control of the entire economy".

How about "the earth managed to fumble along without the obamists controlling our lives this long... somehow we get by".

How about "don't plan to turn over the whole country to Soros and his minions on my watch".

Climate change is real. Earth had ice age followed by global warming to melt all that ice. “MAN MADE” global warming is highly suspect.

Memo to the morons on the left. “Climate change” is a natural phenomenon that has been occurring for millions of years. Only an ignorant moron would think that man can do anything about. Grow up! You’re really not that intelligent and powerful as you believe you are. Take your scam and hoax and shove it!

Notice in this article how “Climate Change” and “Global Warming” are synonymous. Remember when it was just Global Warming and then when science didn’t prove that out they changed it to Climate Change. I’m waiting for “Universe Variation”.

ANYONE who says they believe in Anthropomorphic Global Warming (AGW) is:

1). Ignorant and/or gullible

and/or

2). Simply saying AGW is real in order to get the above (#1) crowd of sheeple to concur with some progressive agenda item designed to bring down the American Republic & Western Civilization.

All that's needed to fight climate change is to throw money at it. Even if it doesn't work.

I asked a socialist who claims to be a republican the other day about something like this.

he said the Pubs needed to “run a moderate.” that Palin and Cruz where to “extreme”..

So I asked him, is there anyone on the left that you would consider “moderate?”

Still waiting for his answer.

I keep telling him he is trying to play on the wrong team as well.
