Other Wyoming politicos who’ve tried to stay above the fray have found themselves drawn into the feud, notably Alan Simpson, the former Republican senator known for his crotchety demeanor. The Cheneys and the Simpsons were at a charity gala in Cody, Wyoming, when Lynne Cheney—Liz’s mother, Dick’s wife, and a writer of racy novels—allegedly approached Simpson and told him to “shut your mouth.” Simpson’s daughter-in-law posted about the incident on her Facebook page, and the local press picked up the story. Lynne issued a statement asserting that the interaction “simply did not happen.”
This denial apparently sent Simpson into a rage.

I only hope the good people of Wyoming are as smart as I think they are. Some may say they have a GOPe in there right now but all they would b doing is trading one for another one. Stick with the one you know until you get a true tea partier to run.
I may have worded that wrong, b/c I don’t have any problem with people being wealthy. I am just tired of people getting wealthy off my dime. I am sure that will make me unpopular with some here on FR, but I would rather look in the Wyoming phone book under the letter W, pick the 12th name, and let them be Senator. At least some new family will b getting wealthy.

On the fact that she will not say homosexual marriage is wrong. She releases very carefully worded statements about marriage being a state issue, yada, yada, yada... Typical Washington speak. She may be technically correct that marriage should b a state issue but I no longer support candidates that will not speak out in condemning homosexuality, it has been normalized enough!

Do your research - Liz is the good daughter. She even caused a family feud by coming out against same-sex marriage.

I suspect the residents of that state have a better handle on what she can do for them than what you perceive she can't........

Very true. And we did. We r very happy to have a hard working plumber representing us in Congress. Maybe after him, we will send an electrician....or a CNC Machinist. (No more life long seats for anyone).
Here’s the scoop on the mom, Lynne Cheney:
For a number of years she was the chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities and the best spokesman they ever had. I loved it when she appeared on TV and told the libs flat out that our culture was declining.
She has written many books and my favorites are her patriotic children’s books, especially “When Washington Crossed the Delaware.” She realizes how important it is to teach children American history.
Yes, she did come out publicly for gay marriage. Must have been painful for her and probably she regrets today sending her kids to the private school where daughter Mary was corrupted.
