A Phalanx of Lies (Steyn)
NRO ^ | 11/2/2013 | Mark Steyn

Posted on 11/02/2013 5:55:19 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

At the same time as dozens of Obamacare enrollees were being signed up, millions of other Americans were having their health insurance canceled — including so many pundits of left (Kirsten Powers), right (Michelle Malkin), and center (David Frum) that the Pulitzers should introduce a prize for Best Suddenly Uninsured Writing. Among their number was Matthew Fleischer, who wrote in the Los Angeles Times:

Most young, middle-class Americans I know are happy that millions of previously uninsured people will receive free or heavily subsidized insurance under the Affordable Care Act.

We just didn’t realize that, unless we had health insurance at work, we’d be the ones paying for it.

The reason he didn’t realize it is because the president lied to him, not just once in a casual aside, but on dozens of occasions, and very bluntly: “If you like your health-care plan, you can keep your health-care plan. Period.” But the entire premise of Obamacare was that, in order to cover (some of) the uninsured and (in many cases) uninsurable, other Americans were going to have to pay significantly more. Obamacare was always intended to be the Great Disruptor: Avik Roy reports that, by 2010, administration officials knew that 93 million Americans would lose their current plans under Obamacare. Small businesses are cutting back on full-time workers; medium businesses are dumping employees’ spouses and children from their plans; and the largest businesses are eating nine-figure bottom-line increases. Delta Airlines claims that it will spend an extra $100 million on health-care expenses next year: Even with cutbacks on complimentary mini-pretzels, a tenth of a billion is a big sum to recover. Meanwhile, the Obamacare plans won’t recognize your preferred doctor, and major hospitals won’t recognize the Obamacare plans.

Since Obama came on the scene, I have never been certainly just how smart and effective he is.

He is either malevolent enough to be an AntiChrist or stupid and naive enough to be Chauncey Gardiner.

Lately, I am tending toward Chauncey...but then?

But it’s not Obama’s fault. It’s those greedy insurance companies, employers, etc. etc.

I’d be surprised if Obama knows anything about all the executive orders he’s signed.

“We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” - Barack Obama Oct 30, 2008

Unfortunately the majority of voters believed the utopian vision that this would be a great improvement. The meaningless slogan Hope and Change was grasped as the mantra of wish fulfillment.

It’s all been by design, IMHO.

Since Obama came on the scene, I have never been certainly just how smart and effective he is.

Yesterday a liberal told me that Obama was intelligent. I told him that I have never heard him say anything that resulted in my believing he was intelligent; what did he say that convinced YOU that he is intelligent?

"Well, he's smarter than Bush."

Chris Frates, CNN's investigative correspondent, reported Friday: "Senate Democrats voted unanimously three years ago to support the self-same ObamaCare rule that is largely responsible for some of the health insurance cancellation letters now going out to irate policyholders."

ACTION NOW........get a summary of the pro-policyholder Republican amendment, with a list of EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT who voted against protecting policyholders, and use it in upcoming elections....in letters to the editor, ads, fliers, bumper stickers, lawn signs, etc..........

=======================================

THEY CAN RUN--BUT THEY CANT HIDE

The O/Care debacle is looking more and more like the House check-kiting scandal years back. Dems--even in safe seats-- were tossed out by angry constituents (cackle).

Democrats Scramble to Distance Themselves from Obamacare (RATS want a refund)
Breitbart | 10/30/13 | Wynton Hall / FR Posted November 01 by Libloather

**SNIP** Other Democrats now say they agree with Republicans that a delay of the individual mandate may be the only way to salvage the disaster and save face. "I think the administration is going to have to look at it [delay of the individual mandate]. and I'd encourage them to do so," said Rep. Gene Green (D-TX).

Five Democrats have now asked for the Obama Administration to seek a refund from the contractors responsible for the Obamacare website fiasco.

GUILTY CONSCIENCES FROM VOTING FOR O/CARE? Reps. Ron Barber (D-AZ), William Enyart (D-IL), Pete Gallego (D-TX), Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), and Filemon Vela (D-TX) wrote a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder urging the reimbursement effort.

Instead, the Obama crowd have bet that, after the usual whining, you’ll settle down and get used to it: higher co-pays, higher premiums, higher deductibles, higher mountain of paperwork, higher futzing.

That's exactly what they're betting. "They," including all the special-interest groups with waivers, all the Congresspersons and their staffs, and all the just plain rich people are also betting that they'll die before the system completely implodes.

Right now, the richest and most powerful can expect that they'll continue to get the best medical care for as long as it matters to them. However, at some point, everything is going to trend downhill. No matter how much money you have, you can't make someone invent a drug for what's going to ail you 50 years from now. You can't make someone invent the medical device that you're really going to want in 2035.

Innovation is going to grind to a halt, and when it does, maybe the Global Elite can try IV injections of money, because that's all they'll have.

What was brought to light is Kirsten doesn’t have an employer. She is free lance, independent contractor, not having a real job.

The reason he didn’t realize it is because the president lied to him,

Despite the fact that he was suppose to be a reporter and people had been screaming at him what was going to happen he kept skipping along with his fingers in his ears singing, "lalalalalala I can't hear you."

No slack will be cut for this bunch.

They knew.

They chose not to report because they didn't think it would hit them.

They were the special people.

And as they were being offered the blindfold they kept telling people it would not happen.

I find it funny in a very grim sort of way.

But the fact remains that nowhere in the Western world has the governmentalization of health care been so incompetently introduced and required protection by such a phalanx of lies. Obamacare is not a left–right issue; it’s a fraud issue.

Both?

We have the ignorant, racist, anarchist, anti-government, KKK Tea Party astroturfers, who figured Obama out in 2008. They figured out that the porculus was a slush fund. They figured out that ObamaCare would totally disrupt the health insurance industry and access to healthcare. They knew this was going to be a man-made catastrophe (terrorism?).

Then we have every Democrat in the US Senate, millionaires, college grads all, who voted on the bill and couldn't figure it out. We have all these masterminds outside supporting the Democrats in the government, in the media, in the political power complex and in academia, who didn't figure it out until it hit their own mailbox.

Who are the ignorant rubes again?

I think Ted Cruz should file a bill to repeal ObamaCare in toto.

"Well, he's smarter than Bush."

Who received an MBA from Harvard without benefit of affirmative action.

There is, in fact, no evidence that Obama exceeded Bush in intelligence. Bush was, demonstrably, more articulate off-Teleprompter.

Back in the early days of the Obama regime, I overheard one twenty-something girl say to a friend, "I've never even met anybody as smart as President Obama!"

Some people simply have mutton in their brain cavity and are absolutely enthralled by the nonsense their television tells them.

Yep, just like the $2.00 @ gallon gas. Once that barrier was broken and doomsday and chaos did not ensue, it was a pure sailing to $3.00 @ gallon & up...............
