According to a new poll, Democrat Terry McAuliffes lead over Republican Ken Cuccinelli has shrunk to 2 points in the Virginia gubernatorial race (42% to 40%, with Libertarian Robert Sarvis at 13%). At the beginning of the month, McAuliffe was up five points (43% to 38%), suggesting Cuccinelli is gaining momentum going into the last weekend of the election. The survey was conducted October 25 to October 30, with 874 likely voters at a 3.24% margin of error. Despite his slim lead in the poll, 55 percent of Virginia likely voters believe that McAuliffe will be elected, with only 28 percent predicting that Cuccinelli will be their next governor. Twenty percent of self-identified independents are in support of Sarvis, who is leeching votes from Cuccinelli with 11 percent of Republicans supporting his candidacy versus only 6 percent of Democrats who said they would vote for him. All the candidates continue to have higher unfavorable than favorable ratings, with McAuliffes at 37 percent favorable to 52 percent unfavorable and Cuccinelli at 38 percent to 56 percent. Third party candidate Sarvis is also disliked with a 22 percent unfavorable rating and a 19 percent favorable rating. McAuliffes strongest area of support are in the north within Congressional district 8 (75%-13%), district 11 (58%-32) and district 10 (52%-37%). Cuccinelli is winning all the other districts with his strongest support in district 7 at (49% to 27%). Sarvis is pulling support in Cuccinelli areas of district 1 at 13%, district 2 at 16%, district 4 at 20%, district 5 at 16%, district 6 at 18%, and district 7 at 14%.

When a democrat leads by 2% it means he’s behind by 8%.
No way Sarvis gets anywhere near 12%. He will be lucky to get 2%.
Not in VA. It will still be an uphill fight for Cuccinelli. Every one should turn out and vote.
I travel around the state of Virginia and see very few signs in yards or elsewhere for MCAULIFFE.
Whoo hoo! Cancel the Virginia wake. We are witnessing a resurrection!

If a loser like McSewer-iff wins in VA, let’s just put a cork in the US, have Revolution II, and get this over with.
Really, there is no longer any real point on any conservative agreeing with a week-minded ill educated liberal on anything.
It’s war, folks.
War.
I can’t ever get the spelling of your screen name correct to ping you.
I have now typed it next to my Cuccinelli graphic!!
Let’s not forget that the northern part of Virginia is stuffed full of left-wing commuters from DC. And the cities are controlled by corrupt blacks who will vote several times each.
So it’s a real fight to keep Virginia the way it used to be.
I agree, this is a key election.
Libertarians really need to wise up. Do they really think a Democrat is going to give them more liberty than a socially conservative Republican? I think I’m being fair when I say Democrats only believe in two freedoms: the right to abort an innocent baby and the right to sodomize someone. Other than that, the Democrat Party is the party of the big cram down.
Republicans who identify with the Tea Party probably agree with 90% of what libertarians want. Libertarians better start thinking about which path, Republican or Democrat, offers them the better odds of actually achieving what they want. There is simply no way, I mean absolute ZERO, for the libertarian candidate to win this race in Virginia. He can only act as a spoiler with most of his votes taken from the Republican.
Wait till Obama the Liar -in-Chief does a campaign event with him, the numbers will go down further.
Wait till Obama the Liar -in-Chief does a campaign event with him, the numbers will go down further.
Good idea and thanks for the info.
We need to tell Sarvis that Ken’s libertarian ideas are better than his Libertarian ideas.
Tell Libertarian Voters that Ken will represent them on almost every single Libertarian issue.
And Cuccinelli is getting some really big names to stand next to him for the last few days, to fire up the voters. Hopefully it will put him over the top.
This is a very critical race, because Hillary is hoping to use it as a springboard for her campaign. If Cuccinelli wins, it is going to dump some linseed oil in her gas tank.
McAuliffe = fingernails on the blackboard
the rats will be firing up busses to bring the illegal workers from the hotels and restaurants into VA to vote
YES!!! The coal industry in Virginia needs to get out the vote. The RATS seek to destroy them. It’s hard for the UMW to face the truth—but RATS are trying to bankrupt them all.
Unless he's running against Mitt Romney.
What is up with this?
In a righteous world, Ken Cuccinelli would be up 10+ points because of whatshisname’s direct connection to Ophonybama and his LIEberal gang of thugs and criminals.
Not to mention his cashing in on Ophonybama’s “Green Energy” scam!
I sure hope you Republicans in Virginia are on high alert and are able to quickly detect and publicize any and all voting irregularities next week.
You know the LIEberals are going to make a massive effort to LIE, cheat and steal votes in order to win this election.
Look Sharp, VA Republicans! Stand tall and conFRont the LIEberal cheaters!
Cuchinelli’s campaign should work for libertarian vote.
