They’re not too young to know right from wrong.

The typical 12 year old isn't old enough to *fully* understand things like this.And as for a 7 year old...give me a break! Consequences? OK.Serious intervention for both? Absolutely.Felony charges for either? Not at 12...or 7.

What alternative reality do you live in?? 12 year olds aren’t old enough to “fully” understand cruelty, torture and killing??? Give ME a BREAK! Yeah, they need some “serious intervention” all right... we’ll just have to disagree on what that should be. Go ahead and coddle. That thinking is part of how we got where we are today.

In my day as a 12 year old, I would have been thrashed (belt or switch) if I had done something to torture an animal. I would have deserved that and more.

Spare the rod, spoil the child.

That deterrent would have been more than sufficient even if we hadn't been taught to respect life far too much to consider it.

bullcrap, they sure are at 12.

and especially now we’re told kids grow’up faster’than we did, they know a hell of a lot more than we did. can’t be both ways.
