CHANDLER, AZ - Four boys have been arrested and booked into a juvenile detention center for brutally beating a kitten to death earlier this month, police said.
Sgt. Joe Favazzo, spokesman for the Chandler Police Department, said surveillance video turned into authorities, depicts six boys repeatedly abusing a young kitten.
The incident occurred on Oct. 14, but wasn’t reported to police until the next day.
According to police, the six boys – between the ages of 7 and 12 years old -- initially start to play with the playground equipment. It shows that they have a small dog and a kitten with them, however, the situation quickly turns dangerous for the kitten. According to the surveillance video, the boys begin to push the dog down the slide, forcing it to run into the kitten.

I did this as a kid. Mr. North paid me $2 a kitten to get inside Molly Browns garage and exterminate her cats. This was in Garden City, Ks in 1957

When I was a kid, I once took a cat and threw it down into a ravine. It later died. The memory still very much haunts me.
I knew a guy in grad school said a man paid him to get rid of a kitten once when he was a kid. He held it in his hand and thrust it into a bucket of water ... and learned something about kittens. He kept his money, since the kitten was never seen again in those parts.
Not a fan of cats. That being said, these kids are deeply disturbed.
How could they be so cruel at such a young age? Sickening.

It’s not the killing of animals that is the problem. Deer, rabbits and other game are killed every year by normal people. It is the torture of the animals that show a sick mind.
Why is it that these stories seem more frequent now? Are we seeing an increase in all kinds of violence because of the general mood of the country under Obama?

It’s fair. Once upon a time children were treated the same as adults...and crimes were fewer in number. Coincidence? I think not. If they can think up cruelty and commit it, they can face the penalties. They’re not too young to know right from wrong. Not nearly.
