MSNBC Kills the Wrong Congressman Foley

Tom Foley, a former Democratic congressman from Washington who served as Speaker of the House from 1989 to 1995, died today at the age of 84. According to MSNBC, he looked exactly like Mark Foley, the former Florida congressman known for his inappropriate relationships with various male pages.

If I recall correctly, the voters of washington threw him out of office because he voted in favor of an assault weapon ban.

Amusing mistake.
Not a fan of either Foley but RIP to the former Speaker. After his loss Clinton appointed him Ambassador to Japan. Wikipedia says he chaired the trilateral commission at some point.
He didn’t seem to spout off to the media like many former politicians.

Young is dead? I just heard earlier today that he was “gravely ill”.
RIP.
I guess there’ll be a special election for that seat. Winning it would give us a leg up for next November.

I’m not sure what’s going on. Carlson reported earlier that he had died, and then corrected it to gravely ill.
But then Greta has said he’s dead and she got a call from the wife, so I guess he went critical and then died. Let’s find a strong conservative to replace him.
