Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said Thursday that he would not rule out pushing the federal government to shut down again in order to defund the health care law.

I most definately do NOT support Obama.
In fact I currently support Cruz. I supported Palin in ‘08 before McCain even selected her.
But I support Obamacare, because there’s frankly a need for it.
I know that is a widely unpopular thing to be for here, but there it is.
I’ll stand up for what I believe in.
At the moment, that is it.
I am not making a crusade of Obamacare, but we in the GOP have staked too much in my opinion being against, what to many is an important addition to our healthcare system.
If the GOP had supported something earlier, I would be for that.
If I am a “statist” then please explain why I support free enterprise and American enterprise.
I am not a statist.
Relax.
I agree Obamacare MAY BE about Socialism and Government control.
To the extent that turns out to be, I will be 100% against it.
Some time ago I had a conversation with a friend who was glad Obama won re-election because she needed ‘affordable’ health care insurance. Yesterday we spoke again, & this time she figured that if she ended up with some critical health issue (cancer, heart trouble, whatever) she would just enjoy her last days & die. I didn’t bother to ask if she’d looked into Obamacare. Her statement pretty much said it all.
“I have never seen you complain about high taxes and regulations — state, Federal and local.”
-
OK then I hereby go on record as officially AGAINST high taxes and regulations — state, Federal and local.
Except as the taxes apply to imports.
I say we raise taxes on imports now.
“If you support either obamacare or Obama you dont need to be on Free republic.”
-
See I disagree. I strongly oppose Obama, but I support obamacare, at least at present.
I understand your opposition, and I will say again I understand fully I am in quite a minority about this position.
But I’m sticking with what I believe in.
Come the next issue, I’ll probably be back where you feel I should be. But I say we’ve left an opening for healthcare reform, and it seems Dems took that.
Now just to further confuse things:
Go Cruz.
:D
Explain to everyone how Obamacare benefits you. I’ll bet you can’t make a reasonable care for it.
It doesn’t benefit me.
However I am a civilian. My job, is my security.
Obamacare offers (me) a safety net, should something go seriously south, at work.
That is what I am strongly in favor of. An effective safety net.
If you have some federal retirement, you’re golden.
I don’t. Which is why my position is different from so many on this site.
I believe a (lot) of FReepers, have a federal retirement.
Good for you all. But don’t ignore us civilians who are meanwhile, out in the private sector watching all the jobs around us being outsourced.
(and no, I am not kidding)
Obamacare offers ZERO security! It is obvious you know nothing about it. Even if you were to have the entire premium subsidized you could not afford to use it. The quality of care is worse than horrible and the premiums are higher than any policy you’ve ever seen.
You cannot give a legitimate reason for supporting commiecare. It is NOT a safety net for anyone...even Obama supporters now understand that.
If you support the unwanted, unnecessary, unconstitutional, liberty-killing, jobs-killing, economy-killing, nation-wrecking, big government monstrosity of all boondoggles, spread-the-wealth-around Marxist/communist/fascist ObamaCare, then you will no longer be welcome on FR. Do not advocate for it here if you wish to remain a FReeper. Your choice.
Roger that.
(will back-off, on this subject)
He may be becoming addicted to the limelight.
Conservatives need independents to win elections. I hope he doesn’t start turning them away.
If Cruz over exposes himself with headlining antics he runs the risk of being a Kardashion. A media clebrity and not a politician.
What were your employees health benefits like before Obamascare?
I was going to type that, but thanks for beating me to it.
Nah...too polite.
Just call them what they are...the Communist Party.
That's not vulgar, it's what the mascot really is, not a donkey.
Thank you very much Andy Jackson.
