It doesn’t benefit me.

However I am a civilian. My job, is my security.

Obamacare offers (me) a safety net, should something go seriously south, at work.

That is what I am strongly in favor of. An effective safety net.

If you have some federal retirement, you’re golden.

I don’t. Which is why my position is different from so many on this site.

I believe a (lot) of FReepers, have a federal retirement.

Good for you all. But don’t ignore us civilians who are meanwhile, out in the private sector watching all the jobs around us being outsourced.

(and no, I am not kidding)

Obamacare offers ZERO security! It is obvious you know nothing about it. Even if you were to have the entire premium subsidized you could not afford to use it. The quality of care is worse than horrible and the premiums are higher than any policy you’ve ever seen.

You cannot give a legitimate reason for supporting commiecare. It is NOT a safety net for anyone...even Obama supporters now understand that.

So are you going to roll over and expose your genitilia or are you going to man the f$ck up and explain to everyone in here why you continue to support commiecare? I’m absolutely hanging on the edge of my seat waiting to hear why you think my country will benefit from having this Marxist administration take over 1/6th of the economy. Come on you POS, tell me why I’m wrong!

Yeh, how bright are you to think a government program offers a “safety net”.

Thinking the government will save you, is typical of liberals and I reckon you are a progressive, in your defense (or lack of therein) of Obamacare.

A TRUE conservative, would not want government or government programs in any part of their lives...and recognizes the best way to fix “healthcare” is the private marketplace (free of regulations) and self responsibility. It’s people, like you, who depend on government to solve these problems, that have destroyed this country.

And something else to think about with Obamacare, since you think it’s so awesome, is this...when you have to see the doctor, can you afford a $5000 deductible, to be paid up front, before any treatment?

As a private citizen, in the middle class, I know I sure as heck can’t.

Safety nets already existed for people with low to no income or who lose their job, Cobra health insurance and Medicaid.

Obamacare opens up a whole new level of subsidies for people in the middle class. Its real goal is to raise the income bar higher for putting people on a welfare program so Obama can make government dependents out of middle class voters who don’t usually vote for Democrats as often as the lower and upper clases. Obamacare is a Democrat GOTV outreach operation for the middle class.

The other people who might truly benefit are people with pre-existing conditions who would’ve had to pay a lot more for health insurance than average people before. The law says the companies have to charge them the same as a healthy person now. So that’s why the premiums for healthy people are going way up, to make up for the sick people who had to pay more before or who didn’t have health insurance and will now be buying a plan that doesn’t come close to covering their medical expenses.

Obamacare is an identity thief’s dream as well as a fraud magnet.
It also was designed in a way that has nothing to do with healthcare, insurance affordability and availability, and making doctors more available.
It will do none of the above other than promote fraud and identity theft.
It is not a balm of Gilead for anyone.
Least of all any self identified conservatives.

No it doesn't.

I have yet to see how it does anyone of any status any good. It is like a bulldozer driven by a blindman, destroying all sectors of "healthcare" including both providers and insurance carriers. (which is its actual purpose)

Existing private coverage or medical welfare programs blow its doors off. Our current system is the best in the world except in some of the ultra-liberal (stupid) states.

I do see where you're coming from although I oppose Obongocare since a lot of our jobs are going away. I know myself, I'm a bit of a mercenary, I'll do what it takes to bring money in and survive much like the guy who called into Rush the other day where his only option is Medicaid since his company is dropping coverages due to Obongocare. So in a way, Obongocare creates more problems as well. It is the snake eating its own tail. It should not be this way. Myself, I would have down medical reform differently.

I'd eliminate duplicate programs and for those who are truly needy, maybe expand Medicaid for those folks but I would leave those who have health insurance on their own, through work or those who chose not to, continue on a they are. Better yet, I'd have mean tested vouchers for those who need health insurance instead of expanding Medicaid and although I know I might get taken to task for this, I do see a need to fix the pre-existing condition problem. However, the way the law is now, it is just setting us up for death panels and a single payer system and we all lose. I know the Democrats and Obummer "stole our bike" on this one. Ideally, we need to bring our jobs back.
