Obamacare is imploding. But thanks to the government shutdown, everyone is talking about the implosion of the GOP instead.
The shutdown drama has distracted from the fact that Obamacares debut is worse than many realize and it threatens the fundamental viability of the law itself. The administration claims the Obamacare online exchanges crashed because the Web site got more than 8 million hits in the first week. Please. You know how many people visit Amazon.com every week? More than 70 million. The difference is: 1.) Amazon seldom crashes, and 2.) on Amazon, people actually buy something.

I’ve been asking President Kafka this for weeks.
I have not needled my liberal colleague about this, though it is hard not to.
“Whats to prevent people from going out and getting their own policy outside of Obamacare?”
Nothing. Today. I’m self-employed and have such a policy. It costs a ridiculous amount of money.
But that will become illegal as part of the “fix” for 0bamacare when we go to single payer. All of the insurance company employees will morph into government employed robo-bureaucrats to administer it.
I think the shutdown simple pointed out the fact that the republicans are all against obamacare and tried to warn the country. People know about both.
Bill Clinton enacted a retroactive tax increase didn’t he?
Just looking at various commentary today, am more annoyed than I was last week, pointing this out.
Today it is Michael Savage and Bill Bennett excoriating Sen.Cruz, for not doing things their way.
Their way, yes, to manipulate public opinion in a better way, not to do this this way but to do this that way.
These guys think anyone can manipulate public opinion to favor the wimpy republicans by allowing the truth of obamacare to come out.
Savage actually said, in between disgusting, typical metaphorical fashion, reserved for anyone who won’t go on his show, that the public will realize that the republicans were right about obamacare after it takes effect and Cruz should have left the argument to that tactic.
Aside from not arguing Sen. Cruz’ point that once it
s in it will not go away, historically referenced and most likely true, as well as not giving credence to the possibility that the republicans will get blamed and take the blame, for obamacare as they do with everything else, Savage does not tell us which particular republicans the public will turn to as having been opposed to obamacare.
There aren’t any. They are all for it, as evidenced by their actions, ie, not having stood up against it as Sen Cruz did.
When I have a very bad day, but a super bad day, I will want to know the blend of drug Dr. Savage is on.
And that liberal-minded Dr. Bennett. Excoriating Sen Cruz, with the same line of thinking. Let the public blame the democrats when this doesn’t go away.
Really? as the republicans sat back allowing it to happen.
Senator Cruz fought it as soon as he could. He’s been in the senate for 10 months.
This fight should have happened a long time ago, but 2 years ago. Republicans’ excuse is that they were not in power.
Well Ted Cruz is in power. His party is not in the majority in his position, but he is a senator, sworn to uphold the constitution.
Bennett took extra time lecturing him at large. And about 15 seconds at the end of three hours on the vets demonstration after a caller reminded him.
If people will want someone to turn to they’ll be sure he is against obamacare.
But not if the conservative and libertarian media personalities destroy Cruz as well.
I am so annoyed.
What is it that these people want? Who is it that is going to fix things? No one? It would be bad for ratings?
Shebelouse would say...we did not spend enough money building the website, only 63 million, we really need and will be asking for 63 billion.
Name spelling intended!
Probably 10,000 people trying repeatedly to get on the system,
The three month rebuild estimate is pure horse sh!t.
They have three months’ worth (millions probably) of purgatory accounts to reconcile (those accounts that were ‘set’ with proper information but locked out because of faulty security protocols leaving ‘new account holders’ with no access to modify, choose, or delete to start anew).
...except in the legislation it's supposed to reference. That turns out not to be a sharply-defined set of rules but a labyrinthine mush of conflicting interests, exemptions, special rules for special people, etc, etc - in short, it's a 2000-page document filled with everything every junior Democrat congressional aide thought to cram in while the getting was good. Yes, you can program stupidity but not that sort of stupidity. That takes a human brain, if that term may be stretched to the people who wrote this mess. Sow's ear, silk purse - it isn't going to work, and it certainly isn't going to be patched in 24 hours.
I’ve been thinking about this obamacare thing for a couple of weeks and something occurred to me that I’ve NOT seen on the MSM, or through the GOP or anywhere else, but it really needs to be looked at.
Since this healthcare thing is going through IRS, has anybody really thought about the implications of that for each and every taxpayer in the USA???
How easy is it to fight IRS when they’ve made an error????
How much power to they have over your finances, bank accounts, property holdings?
What happens if you run into a snag and for one reason or another, can’t pay your tax bill???? This in itself is the
$64,000 question.
Now, add your medical insurance bill to your tax bill and what are your risks?
If you can’t pay, you stand to have your bank accounts shut, loss of your driver’s license, your home and property confiscated and all with very little recourse! It’s already a very long and time consuming process to work out IRS errors with regard to your taxes and now your very life is tied into this circus!
Please ladies and gentlemen, THINK about the implications of this disaster and you’ll see why the tremendous push for repeal of the constitution, Amendment 2, and setups for martial law!
Please think about it and deal with your congress person as you see fit with regard to the potential disaster about to slam each and every one of us to the ground.
From each according to his ability, to each according to his need might sound reasonable on the surface (to some) but who decides what your ability is, and who decides what your ‘’need’’ is??? YOU have not choice in that matter. If the IRS says you are going to be taxed at a certain rate per month, YOU HAVE TO PAY IT! They have decided your ability, not you.
Folks, please...think!
This is what happens when you put a woman who should be at home knitting sweaters for her grandchildren in charge of a vast, highly technical website encompassing all 50 states.
Give them no information
Don't needle him but if he expresses misgivings about the costs or implementation engage him on the topic of future costs.
We have a window of opportunity to do great damage to the amnesty push. While people are in shock over what Obamacare has done to their health costs they will be receptive to discussion of how much more it will soon cost.
If you find yourself in a conversation with someone bemoaning their ObamaCare costs take the opportunity to remind them that those costs will be greatly increased with tens of millions of illegals granted amnesty and added to the rolls of freeloading ObamaCare recipients.
And still, the implosion is not as bad as I want it to be.
I am looking for the fallout to be so devastating, the territory once known as “the United States of America” will be FORCED to break up into a number of republics.
Perhaps then, several of those newly organized republics may once again adopt the words of the original Declaration and the United States Constitution, without certain of the Amendments, most particularly, the 16th, the 17th, the 18th, the 21st and 23rd. Washington, DC, is not even a quasi-state, it is a TOWNSHIP.
Sorry, I go into a shaking fit if I tap out “Oba........” See!
It said “I heart (symbol of heart) Oba........”
Sorry, I just can’t DO IT!!!
