Shelves in Walmart stores in Springhill and Mansfield, LA were reportedly cleared Saturday night, when the stores allowed purchases on EBT cards even though they were not showing limits.
The chaos that followed ultimately required intervention from local police, and left behind numerous carts filled to overflowing, apparently abandoned when the glitch-spurred shopping frenzy ended. Springhill Police Chief Will Lynd confirms they were called in to help the employees at Walmart because there were so many people clearing off the shelves. He says Walmart was so packed, "It was worse than any black Friday" that he's ever seen. Lynd explained the cards weren't showing limits and they called corporate Walmart, whose spokesman said to let the people use the cards anyway. From 7 to 9 p.m., people were loading up their carts, but when the cards began showing limits again around 9, one woman was detained because she rang up a bill of $700.00 and only had .49 on her card. She was held by police until corporate Walmart said they wouldn't press charges if she left the food. Lynd says at 9 p.m., when the cards came back online and it was announced over the loud speaker, people just left their carts full of food in the aisles and left.
"Just about everything is gone, I've never seen it in that condition," said Mansfield Walmart customer Anthony Fuller.
Evans believes it was natural human reaction that led people to fill up their carts during the glitch, but Walmart shoppers Stan and Judy Garcia feel very differently. "That's plain theft, that's stealing that's all I got to say about it," said Garcia.

Couldn’t find who Evans was. Who is this? A shopper, the regional Walmart official? The sheriff?
Natural human reaction?
Here’s the disconnect. If she has.49 on her card and doesn’t get arrested for attempting to take $700 worth of merchandise because natural human reaction in this case is deemed relatively moral then here is the crux
These people want democrats in charge to give them license
The same cops could have been on the Mall yesterday telling the Vets and officials supporting them that they would be protected because it’s natural human reaction to go to their own memorial when it actually costs more to close it than let these people see it
But there’s riot troops in that situation because supporters of republicans didnt vote for licentiousness
And they say the constitution is antiquated that they want Reid and Obama to be in charge of the new rules of animalistic oh I mean human relativist behavior
These guys think government EBT money grows on trees even and especially that Walmart boss who decided this was ok
It doesn’t This money comes from my work and taxes and that of my family most especially my kids who have to pay this back eventually. Debt crisis indeed
Everyone should take heed -
these people have no
“I don’t think I should do that”
circuit in their brains.
I know that EVERY time I go to walmart,
I buy the food for the lady in front of me.
I want everyone to consider this...
If congress doesn’t come to some sort of agreement by Thursday, given the hype the media has placed on the idea of the devastating collapse if there is no agreement...
How likely is this scenario for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this upcoming weekend as the welfare crowd then finds themselves ‘threatened’ with a broke government?
Given the media propaganda pushing the default and the lack of common sense voices to be heard and a President who will be clearly lacking in leadership going into this (actually he may be pushing it)... crazy, crazy thought uh?
Make sure all your mags are loaded, I guess.
Every time I read these stories my wallet gets lighter as I buy additional ammo and magazines.
That is one (of several) reasons I don’t like having a walmart in my small suburb area. It attracts a bad element, and if/when shtf it will bring them out of the city, then they may try to come through the surrounding neighborhoods. My primary plan is to “bug-in” though I have a fallback bug-out plan too. But crowds of EBTers looting through the neighborhood could put a serious dent in my ammo stocks.
Natural human reaction?
We truly live in a day when “everyone does what is right in their own eyes.” Never thought I would see it.
Natural human reaction?
______________
Anything to justify the behavior of this subculture. If this were white people, who is to believe that the excuse of “Natural human reaction?” would have been uttered?
Your observations are spot on.
My local WM is convenient and cheap so that is where I do the bulk of my grocery shopping.
If it were not for the hordes of rude, entitled buffoons and their spawn, the place would be almost deserted.
Just wait and see, this will happen again but nationally.
A perfectly contrived method of creating mass organized looting.
The left upholds and supports the “urban” culture because it is not really a culture as much as it is an ANTI-culture, opposed to Western Culture (that’s what “don’t act white” means - don’t act Western).
And yes, this is “natural” for people who reject and oppose the civilized culture that is based on Biblical morality.
By the looks of some of these people, it wouldn’t be a bad thing to go without food for a few days ...or weeks.
It’s amazing how you never see the thin or gaunt looking “poor” anymore ...
16 or 17 states. EBT was not working at all Saturday. The no limit scenario only at Walmart? I’m not sure.
If I owned a business, it would be “No EBT”.
Anyone who does business with these people is asking for this type of event.
Kayla Whaling, a spokesperson for Walmart, tells KSLA News 12 that the company was
"fully engaged and monitoring the situation and transactions during the outage."
"We did make the decision to continue to accept EBT cards (and purchases on WIC
and SNAP) during the outage so that they could get food for their families."
Hepburn to Bogie in African Queen: “Isn’t nature what we are put here to overcome”?
That type of “decision” also puts other shoppers at risk as the EBTers shop, errr loot the store.
I will now do all I can to avoid shopping at Walmart. I used to shop there occasionally, but this type of “decision” is simply dangerous to anyone in their path.
