House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan lashed out at Senate Republicans for interfering with the House GOPs talks with the White House to reopen the government and lift the debt ceiling, suggesting his colleagues on the other side of the Capitol were betraying Speaker John Boehner.
Theyre trying to cut the House out, and trying to jam us with the Senate. Were not going to roll over and take that, Ryan told reporters. When asked if he felt double crossed, Ryan said you look at the facts and draw your own conclusions.
Senate Republicans, led by Senator Susan Collins of Maine, are negotiating with Democrats on a package to reopen the government and lift the debt ceiling into next year with relatively modest concessions for the GOP.
Ryan said House Republicans only learned the details about the plan this morning, and added that he strenuosly objects to it. When asked which parts of the plan he objected to, Ryan said there are too many to go into.
One of the most significant differences between a House framework sent to the White House late Thursday and Collins plan is the length of time it would extend the debt ceiling. Boehner has put forward a six-week extension, while Collins plan has been reported to extend almost until February 2014.
At a closed-door meeting with House Republicans minutes earlier, Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor offered a similar message to their colleagues.
We need Senate Republicans to stand up and stand firm, Cantor said, according to a person in the room.
Boehner said that in talks between the two sides, Obama had agreed to nothing and said the House would be holding its position for now.

Time for all of the “compromisers”or RINOs to be primaried out of the GOP.
Sometimes I wish they would just take off the gloves. When he was asked if he felt double-crossed, he should have replied “YES! We are being double-crossed!” This unwillingness of the principled to call a spade a spade is part of the problem.
Collins is a Northeast yankee and not really a Republican nor An American for that matter.
The yankees are far more European than American, all of them
The time for normal political means is rapidly fading.
This is quite ironic. The feared cavers-in of the House GOP are mad at the Senate cavers-in for raising the anti.
Now maybe they can buy a clue how we, the American people who aren’t being represented by any of the cavers-in of DC, feel ALL of the time.
Don’t worry though, I’m not holding my breath for the Boehner/Ryan bunch to emphathize with US. They are probably just mad that their seperate governmental position is being undercut.
I agree with them that the Senate GOP is WORSE and shouldn’t be doing this.
But they are ALL bad...
Time for that was many elections ago. Time for something new now. Screw the Republican party.
Raise the House roof!

Wow Yet another DC GOP guy throwing a fit and stamping his foot.....”there not listening to me, waaahhh wahhh wahhh”.
We were so screwed last election:
VP choice a stupid SOB or a cry baby SOB.
Paul Ryan ping
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
I always thought Paul Ryan was a supporter of the Tea Party and the principals we fight for. My mistake. It seems he's more of a "go along get along" type Pub.
Time to AGAIN lean on them.
They know the country has had a bellyful and that they want them to fight like hell to stop this.
They know the country has had a bellyful and that they want them to fight like hell to stop Obamacare!
The time for normal political means is rapidly fading.
********
Liberals want big government, power and control over people. Conservatives want limited government, freedom and personal responsibility.
I don’t see how you can reconcile these differences. The gap is just an impossible chasm to bridge. Other solutions have to be considered — soon.
Paul Ryan was a stronger conservative when he was Romney’s running mate. Was that a lie then too?
I think he's always been that way - Romney saw it. Ryan's wife comes from a political family (dems) so they're marinated in "how it's done" in order to have a long "distinguished" career.
“House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan lashed out at Senate Republicans for interfering with the House GOPs talks with the White House to reopen the government”
More like he lashed out at Senate Republicans for interfering with his and Boehnor and Cantor’s ateempts to cave in to the Whitehouse.
Apparently, his brand of conservatism includes govt managing all the major decisions in our individual lives. This fight was and is about obamacare. The elites in the Pub party have hijacked it to fight for other issues.
in other words “You Senators can’t screw this up, it’s OUR job to screw it up!”
