Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) channeled his inner-maverick Friday during an appearance on Fox News Channel, repeatedly reminding the conservative network that the government shutdown was brought about by the quixotic effort to halt the Affordable Care Act.
When anchor Martha MacCallum asked him about the White House's handling of the suspension of death benefits to military families, McCain said that while the administration deserves blame it was a GOP-induced shutdown that caused the problem in the first place.

Some of us tried to in 2010 but the POS had millions left over from his so-called Presidential campaign. He used that money in a scorched earth campaign against J.D. Hayworth.
I hope he rots in hell.
It's them dam Tea Part hobbits. Worse than FReepers.
What a sick bastard what a jerk what a fool.
No, trust me we do not like him and I did not vote for him in this last election. The problem is the Republican Establishment supports him so we don’t get a better Republican option. Hopefully, I think this is his last term.
Because he can do a lot more damage to conservatives as part of the GOPe. I wonder why he hates us so much? It can't be because we think his fat daughter is a cow because he's hated us since before she was born hatched.
It’s difficult to lose with a Palin endorsement...
Remember Lyndsey Graham’s threat to fellow Republicans? “If you let this happen you are my enemy for life”. As usual, Lyndsey and McCain are sitting in the beauty salon thinking this stuff up so they appear as the only sane members in the party.
The war within the GOP transcends the war between the GOP and the dems.
I feel your pain. I, myself , despise Obama and all he stands for. To have him inflicted on me by the parasites is... indescrabeablely bad.
He’s been kissing the butts of Schumer and Reid for so many years, he just automatically sides with the left.
He’s not a Republican .. he’s a democrat in his heart.
It’s waaaaaaay past time for him to retire. He has used up all his “hero status” and he’s now running on fumes. But, as long as all the repubs in Congress constantly laud him as some kind of “special” person .. he will continue to spew his garbage .. AGAINST HIS OWN PARTY.
I don’t like this guy .. and I don’t give a damn what kind of hero HE USED TO BE .. he’s no longer that person .. he has drunk the left’s koolaid many years ago and people will not accept or acknowledge it.
How much longer will the public swallow this garbage ..??
How the hell does he keep his job and getting the votes?
From Proverbs Chapter 21:
28 A false witness will perish,
but a careful listener will testify successfully.
29 The wicked put up a bold front,
but the upright give thought to their ways.
All of this mess has been a blessing for conservatives. This process has flushed the RATS out of the woodwork into the light for all to see.
Do you want to see who the traitors are and where they have been hiding? Tune in folks..watch and listen. McCain and McConnell have exposed themselves unequivocally.
It’s not over yet.....
I know.
McQueeg is a supreme embarrassment.
I met a former air force general who flew in Vietnam with McCain, while I was door knocking in the Vegas area during that election. He was disappointed that his former comrade just was too weak to pin the communist and radical goods squarely on Obama’s forehead! That was how he put it.
When oh when is Cindy going to call the cookie wagon to come and take McStain to the funny farm?
The AZ democrat voters love him. They are the ones who cross over in the open primary to get him nominated leaving AZ republicans with no other choice but to stay home.
Thanks, I’ve often wondered what McCain’s Vietnam contempories thought of the Senator’s politics. Makes sense.
Given how unpopular he is among a large portion of the Republican base, you'd think at least they could call him "controversial," as in "the controversial senator from Arizona said: . . . ." But no-o-o-o.
