The Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina created a publicity crap storm for the Spite House when operators were forced to close during the government shutdown. The inn sits on federal land and despite the owners attempt to defy orders from the Park Police, he was forced to close his doors and throw away spoiled food during the height of fall foliage season.
Today, the inn will reopen at 5 p.m. and all October reservations will be honored.
Thank you for that information.
At least in Saddam's regime, they had the decency of covering their faces when they they tormented their neighbors and friends.

GOOD!
I had the pleasure of stopping there a few years back while on the Blue Ridge. Gorgeous views, perfect location. Love that area!
“The Spite House” is part of the language no longer in use by the old (sometimes called mainstream) media. Lots of us look for those gems for the chuckles they bring.
Yes, and I’m sure as soon as they restock with fresh food the Spite House (Good one!) will close it again.
*Who is running this guy?*
It would seem a robot from another galaxy that has batteries that are running down and no way to charge them!
You got that right. The old “we don’t make the laws, we just enforce them” will be the trump card of the day.
They can stay there,. but they have to eat the spoiled food.

I thought maybe it was robots from another planet, but this theory is better.
It seems that a Slestak is controlling him!

“I vas chust following orders”
I’m glad some of this is being reversed, but surprised because each time they allow something to re-open, it just proves that they didn’t have to close them to start with.
I am cancelling all my memberships in national parks, and telling them that it is because when the people needed leadership, the NHS was like spiteful stormtroopers.
They all deserve to lose their jobs. Let’s hire people who actually want to work FOR the American people, instead of against them.
I’m sure they have but read the contract carefully. I doubt very seriously that there is any provision in the contract that allows them to be shut down for a shut down. This sure isn’t force majure but if you ask obastard he would call it an act of god.... small g...
All of these people harmed by the spite house need to sue the hell out of the feds and make it as personal as they possibly can. This is one time when I’d like to see lawyers make a lot of money in a very public way. Yes, I know it would be our tax dollars.
obastard is a damn fool.
I’ve seen some chatter on the internet that the inn operator spent some time in federal court the past couple of days. Don’t know if he actually sued.
I suspect that had a lot to do with it.

Sue for lost revenue!
Obama to Reid “But, but its all the Republicans fault. Can’t the sheeple see that?”
Looks like that 37% approval number is getting to him. They know they almost pushed too far.
