On CNN, former tennis player Martina Navratilova praised "one good thing" about growing up under Communism: "we had government health care."
Navratilova slammed those who shut down the government "because we don't want for people to be healthy? We don't want people to be taken care of? It's crazy."
I never watch CNN, and just some of FOX. Do want to see Megan Kelly’s beginning show tonight at 9 Eastern. Does anyone here have a good link to watch FOX live streaming on line? Thanks!
And I’ll bet they can’t move without having to register with the government like they have to do in Germany.
Did she grow up in the USSR? Was she trained there? If so, wouldn’t she, by virtue of her state approved and sponsored training, lived as an elite in the Soviet system? Meaning she had access to a life very few would have had.
Reminds me of what the liberals used to say, as a joke, about fascist leaders: “But at least the trains run on time.”
What price liberty?
Nonsensical - how exactly does requiring elderly couples to purchase insurance to cover pregnancy and child birth make people more healthy? How does doubling, tripling, etc. people's insurance premiums make them more healthy? How does keeping new medical facilities from being built, and forcing existing ones to scale back, make people more health, take care of them, etc.?
I’ll bet if she had a headache in Russia, she probably wouldn’t be able to find an aspirin.
In retrospect, I should have let that door spring back and hit you in the face, at the Grand Aspen Manor, in March of 1988!
AS long as I can remember we have always had health care, not health insurance for every one..and we still wont have insurance for every one even after Obama care.
What's your definition of elderly? 65 and over is on Medicare.
One too many errant tennis balls to the head, I think ...
What an idiot. SHE had healthcare because she was an athlete, and the communists spent lavishly on athletes even to the extent of turning women into quasi-men). For the common folk, though, healthcare was more often than not a .380 to the back of the neck.
I am so sick of this prevailing argument that americans dont have access to healthcare!! Not only can everyone get it but its world class! Their just pissed that they have to pay for it!!
Should have said “older” couples - i.e. those who are well passed the age they can conceive children.
OK, she got her Czech citizenship back a few years ago, but she didn’t renounce the USA.
No free speech, no freedom of religion, no freedom to protest your government, no guns, no free elections, no choice in where you work, no free markets, but hey, free healthcare!
Sounds like a good trade off.
Communism, the race to the pit of despair. Yeah! Make us the productive miserable and the unproductive even more greedy.
It would seem Martina has never read “Cancer Ward”
by Solzhenitsyn. Ah the joys of government health
care.
true - but those who could get out of Russia for treatment did so.
