With the October 17 deadline to raise the debt limit rapidly approaching, President Obama is not specifically ruling out using the 14th Amendment to increase the nation's borrowing ability if the political impasse continues and Congress fails to do so, but says he does not expect the fight to get to that point.
"I'm pretty willing to bet that there are enough votes in the House of Representatives right now to make sure that the United States doesn't end up being a deadbeat. The only thing that's preventing that from happening is Speaker Boehner calling the vote," the president told The Associated Press in an interview Friday that was released this morning.

I am betting he (0bama) is done working with congress. 0bama is going to declare a National Emergency and when he does that ...it invokes a whole new set of dictatorial rules. Hell, he can even detain republicans and tea party politicians as long as he wants.
Anyone buying Fed debt issued in such a manner would be a fool. Congress should immediately repudiate the validity of any paper emitted without Congressional authorization.

How does that pertain? Let's remove the part about slaves and insurrection, I don't think that applies here:

Goana have to defer to the fine legal minds here on FR on this one. We’re being told over and over that Zero intends, if necessary, to unilaterally raise the debt ceiling (more likely simple ignore it and print money) to prevent default, by using the 14th Amendment.
It appears that the 14th Amendment only assures that the validity of the debt shall not be questioned. That’s a far cry from assuring the avoidance of default, IMO.
It is looking more and more like this petulant narcissist is pushing the American people into a crisis mindset in support of some other, darker, more nefarious agenda.

If Obama does this he will seize the power of the purse from the legislative branch and switch to a tyrannical form of government instead of a democratic one by eliminating the checks and balances of our government. He also will cause hyperinflation by putting the full faith and credit of the US government into question.

There’s no need to declare anything. Obama is already a defacto dictator.
Congress didn’t pass a budget but the implementation of Obamacare is going forward and he is launching military raids in Somalia.
There are no checks and balances anymore. Obama does whatever he wants. Many modern day dictators have more constraints in place than he does.
Just because the sociopath-in-charge will abuse his ragtag army does not mean that he will not use them to obtain power.
