A Washington, D.C. watchdog group filed an ethics complaint against U.S. Rep. Randy Neugebauer, R-Lubbock, for his spat with a park ranger at the National World War II Memorial earlier this week.
Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington filed a complaint Friday morning, Oct. 4, with the Office of Congressional Ethics against Neugebauer for conduct that reflects discreditably upon the House, according to a news release from the organization.
Rep. Neugebauers mistreatment of a federal employee who was doing her job is disgraceful, Melanie Sloan, the groups executive director, said in a news release. The blame for the government shutdown and the resulting closure of the memorials lies squarely on the shoulders of lawmakers like Rep. Neugebauer who refuse to fund our government.
The group claims Neugebauers conduct violates House Rule 23, which requires all members of the House conduct themselves at all times in a manner that reflects creditably on the House.
By publicly assailing a federal employee who was acting in accordance with the will of the House and attempting to coerce the ranger to allow access to the memorial despite the fact that federal law requires its closure Rep. Neugebauer abused his position, the release states.
Rep. Neugebauers demeaning treatment of the ranger reinforces the commonly held belief that members of Congress are arrogant and have an over-inflated sense of superiority, Sloan said via the release. The House cannot permit its members to berate federal employees for a government shutdown for which Congress is responsible. Rep. Neugebauer needs to be held accountable for his reprehensible conduct.
Neugebauer and a spokeswoman for the Office of Congressional Ethics were not immediately available for comment Friday morning.

Is the DC contingency ready?
Come on. She vas yust followink orders from der leader.
“the exchange was all of 30 seconds in this video. IOW no big deal. Dems making a mountain out of a molehill”
What ACTUALLY happened means little.
What’s IMPORTANT is how the Radical Dems can spin it, and how much mileage they can get out of it from their allies in the mainstream media, over the weekend.
THIS ALL ABOUT IMAGERY FOR THESE CREEPS.
It’s simply false for this group to say the Rep is “refusing to fund the government.” He voted Aye on the CR that funds all of the government except for Obamacare.
Maybe an Obama Rodeo Clown can chain himself to a barrycade.
The amount of alcohol that would make that woman look appealing would be fatal to an elephant!
She must have got a mouth like that giving BJs to horses.
I second the motion!
cost to keep an open air memorial open during gvt ‘shutdown’ $0.00

If people start showing open defiance to the left,
it’s all over for them.
They don’t have the actual force capability to keep us in line.

Thanks. I’m still getting error message. Maybe it is a Hughesnet problem. Dang satellite system sometimes does weird things.
Hey, Melanie Sloan, take your stupid, moonbat “complaint”
and shove it up your enormous smelly Obama!
Congressman Randy Neugebauer is a hero.
And while you’re at it, Melanie, shave your armpits.
The group claims Neugebauers conduct violates House Rule 23, which requires all members of the House conduct themselves at all times in a manner that reflects creditably on the House.
Well then I am sure that they have filed similar charges against all the demonrats over their verbal assaults against Republicans, right?
