Tuesday morning, seven National Park Service employees were seen erecting and tending to a barricade around the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C. One NPS employee was operating a forklift. There usually aren't any NPS employees working at the World War II memorial.
A couple hours later, when an Honor Flight of World War II veterans arrived, accompanied by Democratic and Republican members of Congress, the fences blocking the memorial were easily moved away, allowing the veterans to enter.
But the barriers are still at the memorial, and they've been reinforced. This morning, I walked by the memorial and noticed that wires had been used to tie the fences together:

So even the Weekly Standard has fallen for this lie? There were no Democrats there on Tuesday (there were the next day, a dollar short).
Indeed!
Yes!! Time for a really big rally with a big personality like Glen Beck to challenge the Manchurian narcissist with phrases like that. I can see it now, worldwide headlines even while the propaganda bums try to ignore it.
Chris Plante went to the WWII memorial, and while he was there, someone cut the wire with a wire cutter. That was Wednesday afternoon. No telling how many times it has happened since.
A mass demonstration is called for. Conservatives are missing an opportunity. BHO’s Obama’s behavior re: WWii vets and the memorial is a classic example of his true personality. He is a perverse, callous, vindictive, punishing s-b.
This shutdown PR stunt has backfired colossally. It exposes Obama for what he is.

There are no rights anymore!!!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing that story. I suspect others here similar ones every day and they “don’t want our thanks, only to remember”.
“This thin wire”
This thin wire on the Barrycade looks as thin and small as the small, little, un-patriotic man that ordered it put there.
I’m over at the el Rushbo thread ————>
I just called the news room of the Washington Post. “Tessa” was very interested and asked me for the pic of the wiring. I emailed her the website address of Free Republic post with the pic. Okay, everybody be polite with your posts. You might be watched!
Indeed, looks like it's very easy to cut. I wonder if someone was ordered to wire them together and just for spite used the thinnest wire he could find.
King Barry will not be defied!
There are soldiers who climbed Suribachi on Iwo Jima carrying flame-throwers, they can probably care a little acetylene if they have to. They’d cut the bands smiling, too. I saw the pictures from Tuesday.
I will believe it when I see it. Tomorrow the same three wires will still be in the same exact place. They will remain there until Obama’s servants remove them.
“I like to be able to GO to D.C.”
I would, too. I wish my Dad was still alive - he went to be with God in 2002. He was a lifer in the Air Force (previously Army Air) and served during WWII, Korea and Viet Nam (was in Cameron Bay). I’d be there in a flash with him and my Step Dad, who served in the Pacific during WWII.
Also wish I could win the lottery, I’d gather up as many Vets as I could from all the wars and fly them to DC to visit the memorials and have a chat with as many Pubbie congresscritters as we could to help keep their knees from getting wobbly. Oh, with a stop at Home Depot to purchase wire snippers ;-)

On the plus side, this smacks of desperation, and a perverse and overarching thirst for confrontation, on the part of The Communist.
If so, the president is completely mad. He will get his confrontation, and he will be destroyed. He is living is some kind of Alinsky fantasy land.
There are more things on heaven and earth than are dreamed of in your Alinskian philosophy, Mr. Communist.
Thanks for the link.
