Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) offered to open negotiations on tax reform Wednesday if Republicans agree to a clean resolution to reopen the government.
Reid sent a letter to Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) pledging to appoint negotiators to a budget conference if House Republicans relent on a six-week funding stopgap.
The budget conference is something Democrats have long sought, however, and the proposal was quickly shot down by Boehner’s office.
Reid offered to include tax reform, which has bogged down in partisan politics this year, on the agenda. The letter suggested that Democrats would be willing to negotiate changes to ObamaCare as part of budget talks as well.

Massive massive fraud! I do not know one single person who voted for Reid. I seldom saw a bumper sticker or a yard sign for Reid. Sharron Angle was several points in the lead in the polls on election eve.

They need to keep offering “rifle shot” bills to fund all the little pain points that Obama and Reid want to punish the country with,
just to make it clear who’s causing the pain.

Go for it, but put in a sunset clause. Govt stays as is until the results of “tax reform” are presented, in say two weeks.
Give Reid a reopening of govt, and he has zero incentive to negotiate honestly.

The GOP didn’t cause the shutdown. Obama and Reid caused the shutdown. Keep it shut. And stop all this nonsense about cordoning off outdoor open spaces.

Yep, thanks to Cruz, Lee and others, it's a strategy that WILL work. It's what Congress should have been doing all along.
