A series of leaked emails from House Speaker John Boehner’s chief of staff, Mike Sommers, show that the Speaker may have coordinated with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) to exempt Congress from Obamacare.
The emails were leaked Tuesday by David Krone, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s chief of staff, who actually has a history of this sort of thing.
The leaks, which are a major taboo in Washington, show Rep. Boehner (R-Ohio) worked behind the scenes earlier this year to address confusion over a provision in the Affordable Care Act that would force members of Congress and their aides into the exchanges. In fact, if one were to go by the leaks, which were first given to Politico, it appears that the offices of Boehner and Reid regularly coordinated to exempt Congress from the health care law.
But given that the Speaker is now apparently against congressional Obamacare exemptions, the emails make him look inconsistent and hypocritical – which may have been the point of their leaking.

Good tag line and it is the truth. We are hanging ourselves with the rope we made. America could never fall from a frontal assault. Our only vulnerability was the enemies within and their ability to persuade the weak and stupid.
The left has to keep their Holy Grail, Socialized Medicine. This is a hill they are willing to die on. The least we can do is help them along. Burning back-channels is a pretty desperate move, we need to just take a deep breath and see what develops, we could be in for a muted pleasant surprise.
As to Bone’yer and his crew, who is surprised and who cares? Time to sharpen the pitchforks for 2014.
Not really a big deal. Boehner has already said he plans to retire as Speaker after next year’s election.
Then if Boehner was simply ethically following his philosophy, why the need to conceal his meetings with Obama and Reid with a dishonest cover story?

I can proudly say my Rep, Louie Gohmert has stated he will not accept any carve-out. Still waiting on the others.
He has to negotiate against himself first. Then comes the caving and the crying.
boehner also said that “CUT, CAP AND BALANCE IS THE ONLY PLAN ON THE TABLE”. He was negotiating with obama, reid and piglosi behind closed doors.

It doesn’t surprise me at all. Both parties want to insulate their staffs from Obamacare. It is the reason why the Reps accepted Obama’s ruling on an issue he had no authority to do so. Both parties are corrupt.
Republicans said the leaked emails completely mischaracterize the speaker’s actions.

I didn’t read all the comments, so maybe this was already mentioned. Are we sure the emails are legit? Faking emails wouldn’t surprise me.
There will come a time when every republican who did not or could not stand with Ted will be completely unwelcome by the GOP

Will wait to see how this shakes out. But as I understand this they are not boehners emails but his Chief of Staff. Beck read them and they could be interpreted several ways, a few words changed here and there and you have a completely different nuance. Reid is pond scum and this is as dirty as it gets. Remember the accusation from Reid against Romney and his tax information? Never saw it did we?
