And that’s just the beginning of the nightmare

Only a fool would think that dealing with the government for ANYTHING would be easy

Billions of dollars have been spent on these exchanges.

Billions which could have paid for the healthcare of the small percentage which qualify for their use.

It’s still George Bush’s fault, because the Republicans shut down the government again.

I mean, how’s the gummint s’posta work without no money?

20 minutes doesn't seem that long to work on something important, but that would be an accurate simulation of a certain segment of society. My sister tried to get a distant relative signed up for Medicaid for her and her daughter. This welfare princess would never finish filling out the paperwork.

The one silver lining for the Obama masses is that they won't have nearly as many choices to mull through as the seniors did with. Medicare part D. They are still going to have to deal with the shock when they find out free healthcare isn't free.

Outsource Obamacare support to India. Healthcare from someone you cannot understand.

Does not surprise me one freaking bit. We’ve known for months this would be a fiasco, and that most states would be out of compliance on 10/1. So let it roll. Let these lame headed citizens see what they elected.

So tired of having to be silent about this crappity-ass piece of legislation and all the pressure we have gotten to give the states everything they asked for.

Right now, at 1:18 p.m. on national television, an American President, in what amounts to a TV commercial pushing Obamacare, is sounding more like Billy Mays and Anthony Sullivan promoting laundry detergent or the latest, greatest gadget, than a United States President of all the people, including Republicans who oppose his policies.

Of course they will say this is because demand is so high.

A week from now they will blame it on............Bush.

I read a pretty good article a couple of months ago that pointed out that the computer infrastructure needed to implement this mess was not ready and would take some time to get ready and work. Not only not enough computing power absent but they don’t even have all of the software written and in place to make this thing work right.

Indeed, 20 minutes doesn’t seem like very long. People spend more time setting up a new OS on their iPhones.

What bothers me about these “does it work” “it doesn’t work” type stories is they judge success based on some mechanical measure of whether the “trains run on time.” NSA spying “works,” as do unmanned drones. Hell, Auschwitz was quite “effective.” But that shouldn’t be the only measure of judging a governmental initiative, particularly a fascistic one such as this.

Rush just described an article where the author described a similar exercise in total frustration with an effort to apply at an “exchange.” To be fair, it’s likely that Ms Schiavocampo and that article’s author are both of above average intelligence and are far more familiar with dealing with complex software than the average low info voter. That being so, just imagine the chaos that will strike when millions of low info voters are forced into this nightmare.

they don’t even have all of the software written

I think the fact is that they haven't finalized the rules, and so one might make the claim that they haven't even started some parts of the software.

Complex software takes time to design, develop, test and deploy. I believe that -- in part -- they are at the "design" phase, and the government shutdown is probably going to slow their efforts.
