During his first run for president, Barack Obama made one very specific promise to voters: He would cut health insurance premiums for families by $2,500, and do so in his first term.
But it turns out that family premiums have increased by more than $3,000 since Obama's vow, according to the latest annual Kaiser Family Foundation employee health benefits survey.
Premiums for employer-provided family coverage rose $3,065 24% from 2008 to 2012, the Kaiser survey found. Even if you start counting in 2009, premiums have climbed $2,370.
What's more, premiums climbed faster in Obama's four years than they did in the previous four under President Bush, the survey data show.
There's no question about what Obama was promising the country, since he repeated it constantly during his 2008 campaign.
In a debate with Sen. John McCain, for example, Obama said "the only thing we're going to try to do is lower costs so that those cost savings are passed onto you. And we estimate we can cut the average family's premium by about $2,500 per year.
At a campaign stop in Columbus, Ohio, in February 2008, Obama promised that "We are going to work with you to lower your premiums by $2,500. We will not wait 20 years from now to do it, or 10 years from now to do it. We will do it by the end of my first term as president.

Typical Obama trick. Man is a complete liar, pathological in fact.
GOP must hold strong. Worse case for Obama, a budget never gets placed, the government shuts down almost completely and no one notices.
Sheer human will is supreme. Obama is simply living by his lack of principles.
At least a $5,500 swing from how Obama sold it. In the business world we call that the bait-and-switch con, which amounts to our President and the Democratic Congress willfully committing fraud. Obama, Sebelius, and every Representative and Senator who voted for ObamaCare belongs in jail.
Last night I heard of a Teacher whose $30 per month policy was increased to $130 per month because of 0bamaCare.
Payback’s a bitch.
For some time now I have been posting about what I perceive as the coming debt devaluating inflation. There has been some,but the big 6 or 7% annual rate has not yet occurred.
I had concluded that the reason was there is no wage inflation vector to drive other prices up. There are several attempts by the Democrat surrogate Mc Donalds workers and minimum wage wanters but they are unsuccessful.
It is now dawning on me that the inflation vehicle is Obamacare. The rise in healthcare insurance all across the board will force across the board wage increases in spite of unemployment. Once begun, there will be no end. A massive wage inflation will begin by the middle of next year and will form the election debate. “There are no problems that can not be solved by greedy businesses paying a living wage” will be the mantra
Obamacare is the debt destroying instrument of our government
Obozo the fraud, obozocare is not about health care provision, it’s a scam to control the people and take your money in the process. That is why Plugs Biden said Obozocare is a big effing deal. The inside players will all get RICHER off of it and have the IRS to enforce collections. Wars have resulted from less.
Inflation is a universal tax that no one can escape, except the printing press operators.
-——I much prefer default ——
I have no real preference. I look into my crystal ball and history books and see inflation in the future. Inflation (devaluation) is the choice of kings and tyrants for all of history.
Inflation is as you said a tax, a hidden tax. Obamacare is a tax. The SCOTUS said so.
My revelation over the weekend is that the imposition of the Obamacare tax will precipitate the inflation tax
Isn’t it amazing how all these pro-Obama sites are complaining this morning. There were complicit to this disaster with their silence. Now all of a sudden they are reporting the truth after the train has left the station? Maybe they are realizing they are screwed with the rest of us.
Got the notice in the mail yesterday.
1) I'm not able to keep my health insurance as-is. They're bumping me into a different plan, that's also not as good as what I have now.
2) Premiums are going up by 50%.
So much for "you can keep your insurance" and "it will be cheaper". Not that I'm surprised at all.
I'll get online sometime soon and see what the other options are. This is their first bid, hopefully I'll be able to do better.
Oooops...Old article. LOL
"After all, Prohibition was the law of the land (under the 18th Amendment), and the politics of its widespread loss of respect for the law resulted in its repeal (21st Amendment).
The 21st Amendment did not totally end Prohibition. The individual states could then vote in local option for either being wet or dry. But the power was stripped from the Federal government to enforce prohibition anywhere.
How was that for repeal and replace?
Inflation is the obvious choice because politicians want to keep their promises. As long as the checks are flowing they have done so and it won’t matter to them if a bag of money won’t buy a loaf of bread.
Three card Monte is still on his game.
This could have been written by me. It tells it like I have seen it for a while now.
Princes are required to take the course Inflation 101, 201 and 301 in their training to be king

Don’t forget the $833 tax penalty for those who utilize FSAs.
THE HOUND OF HEAVEN
Poem by Francis Thompson (abridged version)
I fled Him, down the nights and down the days;
I fled Him, down the arches of the years;
I fled Him, down the labyrinthine ways
Of my own mind; and in the mist of tears
I hid from Him, and under running laughter.
Up vistaed hopes I sped;
And shot, precipitated,
Adown Titanic glooms of chasmèd fears,
From those strong Feet that followed, followed after.
But with unhurrying chase,
And unperturbéd pace,
Deliberate speed, majestic instancy,
They beatand a Voice beat
More instant than the Feet
All things betray thee, who betrayest Me.
