The current campaign to deprive President Obama's health care leviathan of the life-sustaining tax dollars it needs for full bureaucratic metastasis is what left-wingers call a consciousness-raising exercise.
It matters next to nothing if current Republican efforts succeed in immediately defunding Obamacare. That's because this is just the opening round of what promises to be a protracted struggle to restore sanity to the American health care system. A temporary defeat at one juncture on the road to repeal isn't really a defeat at all, provided that it serves a larger purpose. Obamacare, after all, wasn't enacted in a day and it won't be repealed in a day.
Both the Ted Cruz talkathon and the brinksmanship over the stop-gap government funding measure (called a "continuing resolution") epitomize purposeful political theater.
Ignore the blatherskite spewing from GOP establishment talking heads like Karl Rove: there is absolutely nothing wrong with doing political things strictly for public consumption even when there is a less-than-direct or less-than-obvious relationship between the things done and the desired results. It's not somehow dishonest or dishonorable to do this, contrary to the protestations of the pompous pundits who suck up air in the Washington echo chamber.
In this age of instant everything, we tend to forget that politics isn't always about concrete, instantaneous results. It's about symbolism. It's about focusing the attention of people in order to educate them. It's about framing the issues properly, telling stories, and planting memes in public spaces, allowing them to spread like dandelion seeds on a passing breeze. That's how Americans were brainwashed into believing that Republicans are the "party of the rich" and gazillionaire George Soros's Democrats are the caring party of compassion...

The man is right, it’s edumacation!
Who actually wrote Obamacare? I can’t seem to find a definitive answer.
Ted Kennedy and his ilk, was the best guess that I heard back when they rammed this down our throats.
Dr Ezekiel Emanuel and Peter Orszag are listed as the daddies of this monster. But you probably know that. Who were the flunkies with graduate degrees who did the actual writing of those 2,000+ pages will never be known, except to those who read their resumes.
He’s also right when he says “if not now, when?”
When this mess goes down the crapper, Democrats are going to own it lock, stock, and barrel.
I am thinking that if bamcare isn’t repealed, the only option is for millions to defy the edict and go uninsured, accompanied by tens of thousands of lawsuits clogging up the courts claiming this exemption and that. And you wondered why they bought two billion rounds.
Ezekiel Emanuel, Obamas Doctor Death?
Conservatives say the renowned bioethicist, brother of Rahm Emanuel, is the man behind the infamous “death panels”

Now I remember - Rahm’s brother.
What’s interesting, and it just occurred to me, that the media haven’t been interested in the behind the scenes story of how this bill came about. I mean, it must have involved an organized effort, months of work, and dozens upon dozens of people. Who were they, where did they work? How did it all work?
It was a stew of clauses written over the last 7 decades and had been maturing in desk drawers and now hard-drives during that time. Throw in any number of ACORN and K Street types and voilà!, 2500 pages of “as the secretary shall determine”.
I would love to know. Seems to be a well-kept secret.
I wonder if a FOIA request would get answers?
I was hatched in the 90s and born as Hillarycare in Bill Clintons first term.
As for the Senate, they were never going to vote for cloture. It was really just a question of how many senators would vote with the people, and how many would do as they normally do and vote to screw everybody else. Well, we got our answer: 19 voted with the people, which is actually 4 more than I expected. But more importantly, we now know exactly WHO the Patriots are and who the cowards and kakistocrats are.
But wait. It doesn't stop there. Today's vote was really a two-fer, the gift that didn't stop giving! At no time in my life have the political differences been so stark, the choices so obvious, and the villainy so apparent. Today, the majority of gop members in the Senate stood up and did something I never really thought they would do: they publicly murdered their own political party.
Orszag and Emanuel wrote op-ed pieces promoting O-care that were published by the WSJ, that’s how I know, and which provoked op-ed responses tearing these guys’ proposals to shreds (and they were ridiculous even to a non-expert.) Messrs O & E never publicly responded to those articles.
John Dingell’s father wanted National Health Care. John Dingell dropped a bill into the hopper every year since 1957.
Exactly. You need to let the country know that you are working on dumping obamacare. This time might not do it, but we will continue, non-stop, to do it. Why let a minute go by that we don’t remind people how bad it is and how bad it is going to be?
That’s how the dems do things. They keep putting an idea forward. It get’s slammed. The next time it gets a little traction, but it gets knocked down. The next time it gets a bit more attention and it gets defeated. The next time more people are onboard, including GOP idiots like McCain, and it gets more notice.
And so on and so on and so on. And suddenly one day, the walls come tumbling down and 50% of the country supports the initial crazy plan, and shortly thereafter, it becomes law.
Elapsed time? 20 years or 10 years or 5 years or 1 year doesn’t matter to them. They keep pushing and pushing as long as it takes without letup until the lie catches on and they WIN!
Why can’t we play that game?
Until now, we were always reacting to their push. We had no clue how to win over minds. They use continual repetition but we can use continual education to show them that our view is the better one.
The dems like good commies plan years ahead. We are then forced to react.
We don’t plan our battles, we react to their offense.
I think Cruz and Lee understand this. It’s OK if you loose some battles since you will live to fight again. And one day you will win.
Amen
The rough draft was probably written by Lenin and every commie since then has added his little touch or favorite idea.
Vladimir Lenin: "Socialized Medicine is the Keystone to the Arch of the Socialist State."
Democrats have wanted socialized medicine since they got social security it’s all part of the master plan to rule the masses!!
