Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) on Friday said that the Tea Party movement is just as dangerous for America as the Civil War.
A small group of willful men and women who have a certain ideology about how our country should run and what we should do cannot get their way in a normal discourse and votes, Harkin said. Since they cant get their way theyre going to create this confusion and discourse and hope the public is so mixed up in who to blame for this that perhaps theyll blame both sides.
That is the path they see for taking over the government. Its dangerous, very dangerous. Every bit as dangerous as the break up and the Civil War.
Harking made the comments as the Senate prepared to vote on continuing resolution that would fund the government past Sept 30. Democrats are moving to stip language from the bill that would defund President Obama's healthcare law.
Harkin said Republicans were throwing a temper tantrum and threatening to "take their marbles home" unless they get their way on ObamaCare, risking a government shutdown.....
Calling Brit Beltway Hume!!
Calling Bill Blowhard O'Reilly!
Tom Harking wants to be Fox "News" Stooge #3.
They are SCARED of a resurging TP movement.
and these people know the MSM will give them a pass
The TEA party will bring many to justice.
Never post ANYTHING about Harkin without referencing the LIES he told concerning his service in the military. NOTHING this FRAUD has to say should be taken seriously.
They’ve created this distrust and the coming backlash.
No conservative will trust them again.
A broken down old liberal who has squandered millions of taxpayer dollars on useless pork. HE is the problem. BTW D-bag, the GOP was on the side of freedom during the Civil War. We still are.
Change every word; “America” or “nation” to “democrat” and the entire thing reads REALLY true and accurate.
Guess they don’t know what an opposition party is. They’re used to getting anything they want unopposed.

If I remember correctly, the outcome of that war was to set the slaves free.
May the outcome from CWII be as victorious for us slaves of the burgeoning, bureaucratic, totalitarian, collectivist federal state.
I swear they have to be looking in the mirror when they say these things. They describe themselves to a “t”.
They are ultimately nothing but self serving Grifters who don't want anyone pulling back the curtain on their corruptness and venality.
Thank God for courageous men and women like Sara and Ted.

So he is admitting that he is a Copperhead, and that it’s just better if we all accept slavery as an institution?
“Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) will not seek reelection in 2014, he announced Saturday.
[snip]
Harkin’s decision makes him the third senator up for reelection this cycle to announce his retirement. Sens. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.) and Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) have both announced they will not seek another term.” - Washington Post - Jan 26, 2013

Harkin is right. By giving a voice to issues that a great many people care about, and blocking any action, they are running the risk that someone will turn to the third box.
Don't want that, but it is a risk. The NSA/FBI/Homeland boys are much more worried about domestic uprisings than anything going on overseas.
Harkin:A small group of willful men and women who have a certain ideology about how our country should run and what we should do...”
Is he talking about the founders who wrote our Constitution???
sounds like Cruz hit pay dirt!!! the Libs whine when they are losing their candy!!
