(CNSNews.com) - As the people's elected representatives in Washington wrangle over the budget, the debt limit and defunding Obamacare, one freshman senator admits the news is not good.
--snip--
"Eventually, if you're going to defund Obamacare, you're going to have to pass a (repeal) bill because Obamacare is permanent law. It's part of that mandatory spending. And you have to pass a bill through the Senate and have the president sign it into law."

*** Sell out cowardice on parade Alert***
Like Cornyn, these fools are trying to sound as conservative as possible as they stab conservatives in the back
Pat Buchanan explains how to do it:

Johnson will cave, is my prediction.
It's the same shtick that Boehner said after a crisis: it's up to you now, you have to vote Republican.
Barf. I sure as heck don’t see why it ever has to be funded. It may be a law, but it’s up to the house whether it gets one red cent.
Besides who else in Washington obeys the law? Not the Obama Administration nor the Harry Reid led Senators. They can all just go jump in a lake as far as I’m concerned.
I don’t trust him, but he’s a godsend after Feingold.
Eliminate welfare programs and make everyone pay their own way!
Fire all employees that administer welfare progerams.
That would go a long way to ballance the budget and start to pay off the debt.
I don’t want the fedgov to solve my problems.
I want it to stop causing them, though.
Called all 8 of Cornyn’s offices 5 times today - message boxes full and no one answered the phone or there was a busy signal. Also tried sending a fax to all 8 offices after setting my machine on redial. None of them ever answered.
Just flipping unbelievable.
I thank you on behalf of my four Grandchildren for your efforts.
The WDC freaks (obviously our betters) don’t want to hear from the people. They are too busy enjoying themselves at the trough.
At this point of with 30 posts already in. I’m the only poster identifiable from Wisconsin. Found Johnson to be sincere and concerned. What does scare me is that his reading of Obama is skewed. Obama is a snake oil salesman when it comes to what he really believes which is he’s a die hard one world communist. Government is the solution to every problem. Which is the same way Cruz reads him.
Johnson buys into the bi-partisan b/s and doesn’t accept what Obama really is and that’s where he gets into trouble.
I think the senator is making a valid point. No matter what, the only possible way to defund Obamacare is to actually vote for cloture. However, Democrats can always add amendments after the fact. There is simply no other way to do it. Shutting down the government by keeping the debate going won’t do it. No matter what, cloture must be invoked at some point. There’s only one way to actually defund Obamacare without shutting down the government. It has to make it through the amendment process in the senate.
For some? Yes. But there are plenty of others who really want Obamacare defunded but don’t believe it can be done by Cruz’s method. As I understand it, Cruz cannot succeed by voting against cloture. I think a better strategy if for the House to start passing funding bills for separate pieces of government. Pass something to fund the DoD, for example, that does not include funding for Obamacare. Will the Democrats simply refuse to pass anything at all unless they add Obamacare back into it? If so, popular opinion isn’t going to support that.
It’s way to low to pay the O tax. That kicks in at around
$400,000 or so. I’m hoping to get $160,000
Thank you for your post. Ron Johnson is one of the good guys.
Senator Johnson represents those of us in Wisconsin well, he is damned sure better than Feingold ever was, and then we have Tammy Baldwin on the demodummie side who is a major lib if there ever was one.
What the is “permanent spending”? Is that like Scottish law or something? Totals bull crap.
“If we’re voting to proceed to a vote on a bill that actually defunds Obamacare, that’s kind of hard not to vote to proceed to that final passage”
Direct quote. He sounds like Coburn. He knows Reid will strip out the language with a bare majority.
Our founding fathers are spinning in their graves over what this federal government has become!
