With a potential government shutdown looming in less than a week, Gov. Rick Perry of Texas said it would be nonsensical for his fellow Republicans to support any effort to bring government to a halt over the health care law.
I don't think it's a good option, Perry told The Fine Print. There's still time to sit down and try to fix Obamacare.

That was Romney and the Republican party’s problem too. They only wanted their unconstitutional plan instead of Obama’s unconstitutional plan.
Then tell Obama not to do it, Stupid Rick.
they voted against it and then they vote to fund it.
That is how stupid the establishment is.
Fix obamacare?! NO, you scrap it and start with a plan consistent with the constitution and capktalism. Dammit Gov. Rick, what a disappointment you don’t get this.
I was a strong supporter of Rick Perry but I part ways with him on this issue. I’ll be rallying around Ted Cruz in 2016.
I am a Palin supporter but liked Perry. This is very disappointing.
OTOH, the man that got to home base in the GOP primary had previously implemented Obamacare in Mass.
He got there through cheating. We had FReeper eye-witness accounts of that. I wish that I had bookmarked the posts. The surrender monkeys in the GOP hand picked him just like they did McCain.
When the source is Yahooooo, not much truth is required and quotes are usually taken out of context. Shutting down the government in less than a permanent fashion is probably never a good option, but there may not be a better one on the table.
Evidently he didn’t cheat enough because he lost to Obama.
Not supporting Cruz was taken out of context? Bunk. It’s all the rage in the GOP. Perry just joined the fad. And Perry supported Dewhurst not Cruz.
Are we “heartless” Rick?
So did McCain which is why they were picked.
Hey Perry! Staying stuck on stupid isn’t a good option either.
Shutup pointy-boots; we’re just counting the days ‘till you’re outta office here.
You could say the same thing about GW Bush, except Ralph Nader syphoned 90,000 votes away from Gore in Florida allowing Bush to win that state and the presidency.
The RNC controlled Nader? Wow.
You have said that there is a power structure, whatever you call it or however it works, that enabled McCain and Romney to win the nomination.
I'm saying that it was the same power structure that got Bush the nomination. And if it had not been the Florida Fluke Nader, Bush would have lost like McCain and Romney.
2004 shows that to be an untruth.
It wasn't until 2005 that public opinion shifted.
Most presidents win a second term. Obama, Bush, Clinton, Reagan, Nixon/Ford, Kennedy/Johnson, Eisenhower, Truman, Roosevelt. GHW Bush and Carter are exceptions to the rule
