SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) -Authorities say they've charged a Syracuse teenager with the unprovoked beating of a 70-year-old man outside a convenience store, an attack that left the victim in serious condition.
Police Chief Frank Fowler says Monday that 18-year-old Romeo Williams has been charged with second-degree assault after Saturday morning's beating of Jim Gifford as he walked across the parking lot outside a 7-Eleven store.
Fowler says Williams hit Gifford in the face, knocking him unconscious. Police say Williams then entered the store and celebrated by taking off his hat and holding it up in the air and smiling before going back outside to beat and kick Gifford.

Correction :
And his mom says he's totally sorry and wish he hadn't celebrated by taking off his hat
so that he could be positively identified on the store security camera
“Attorney James McGraw says he has represented Williams before but hasn’t been contacted by him about the assault charge.”
And if this attorney had an ounce of humanity, he should refuse if he is contacted. Wait, attorney and humanity....never mind.
Romeo now, but Juliet soon enough.
Probably pretty accurate assessment.
No surprise.
Trayvon’s friend.
Obozo’s other son (SoB, Son of Barrak)
I don’t here, but it may come to that.
But if it does, there are a lot older fellow I have as neighbors. Some of them still shoot pretty well.
Romeo’s next date may be with Bubba.
I hope it is BIG Bubba!
He has made some extremely bad choices.
Feeling of empowerment from Obozo is the worst mistake.
Romeo may discover he’s Juliet?
Good thought 2. I’m older and have carried for many long years. I keep up on my State’s current laws concerning the defensive use of a firearm in a lethal force situation. I also live up in the mountains so it is just a trip outside my front or back door to practice shoot, present from my holster(s), movements etc. which I do about 3-4 days a week which is a nice deal. If I do make it down to the ‘big town’, (maybe once every 6 months), I still carry and I always remember to keep the old eyes and head moving, looking, looking, looking. If something does not feel or seem right it probably isn’t as that old saying goes. These kids are so strong and violent and they have no fear of any punishment if they are caught that a firearm presented at them is just about the only thing that will deter them. There was an older fella, a WW2 vet in Spokane Wa. that was beaten to death a few weeks back by a pair of kids. (I think he was 88 years old. He had no firearm, as far as I have read so far on him or in his car when he was accosted). He was defenseless against these punks. I know quite a few ‘80’s’ and it still surprises me when this sort of thing happens that while shooting the breeze about it at the local watering hole down in the nearest little no stop light town is that more than a few of ‘em state: “I don’t need no damn gun, I made it this far, nothing like that will happen to me”. (or some such feeling). So I do not know what the answer is.
Dang, he really got hit HARD with the ugly stick!
It’s the latest cool thang in the hood. The ‘knockout game’
But the media won’t touch it.
The media won’t touch it until one of these hoodrats dies of lead poisoning.
Then they will give them the full “Trayvon Martyr” coverage.
This clown needs an injection of 40 cals.
I would think he'll be a victimizer, rather than victim.
I’m sure like Trayvon he’s really a good boy.
He's sorry he got caught. That's all.
So where’s Daddy?
I hope he gets gang-raped in lockup.
