I think that until there is some sort of negative repercussions on Muslims in general, there will be no pressure exerted by them on their jihadi wing. Right now it’s a freebie for Muslims.
Representatives of their religion (and like it or not, that’s what they are, because they base their activities on Muslim teachings) get to go out and do horrendous things and then the west runs forward and says this has nothing to do with Islam. Obviously, that’s not the case, and the supposedly non-violent element of Islam should be called to account and, if they wish to continue living in peace and enjoying our society here, they have to put pressure in the violent ones. The every-day, next-door-neighbor Muslim may be scared of them, too, but if he is, being forced to choose between going back to Pakistan or Waziristan or Somalia if he doesn’t denounce them, and getting to stay here if he does, may make a difference.
Right now there’s no downside for supposedly mainstream Muslims. They get kid-glove treatment and meanwhile their jihadi brethren can work on establishing the caliphate by killing as many kafirs as they can get.

During the Muslim conquest of Turkey, as villages were conquered, Christian women were raped in front of their husbands, often multiple times. This was in compliance with Islamic rules of war that declared the marriages of non-believers dissolved. It was also intended to impart a sense of helplessness and shame on the husbands and demonstrate in no uncertain terms they had been conquered.

Obama has not caused this mess diredtly.......but he moved it right along with his failed “Arab Spring” fiasco!!! Lately I’ve been thinking about how great Charles Martel was, and how indebted we all are to his courage and skill on that battlefield in Poitiers.
We’d all be Muslims today and speaking Arabic if it were not for him.
The only thing that came to mind instantly when I read that was "smite the neck of the infidel" which isn't exactly the phrase that I would prefer to remember in that circumstance.
