Abortion is evil, liberal nuns need to be reigned in.

So much for the change that libs were hoping for.

“...offered an olive branch of sorts to the doctrine-minded, conservative wing”? I find it rather scary that the media is not even trying to hide their contempt for life. HOW DO YOU KNOW Francis intended his comments as a symbol and not as a fact? You don’t. You’re still stuck on fake but accurate reportage, cBS.

I hate the cheap, shallow, cynical political language.

"In a sop to doctrinal reactionaries in Jerusalem, Jesus of Nazareth today voiced support for the so-called 'Ten' 'Commandments'. This is widely interpreted by faith experts as a compromise designed to quiet critics who say he has slid too far in his rhetoric about mercy and grace."

I'm rolling my eyes so far I can see the front of my brain.

Tagline.

OK, Pope Franky, nice work so far. Now could we get a position on pedophile priests? Maybe you could throw the ones you’re shielding in the Fatican out so’s we can get to them.? Just baby steps of course-—not asking for anything severe or profound. Don’t hurt your back with anything that looks like heavy lifting.

And by the way——who the bleep is Pope Franky talking to/at with the “throw away culture” line of krap? I know he waved off the new red shoes but that hardly defines a life style throwing stuff away. Maybe he should give a PBS class on how to make gravy , pan licking, sock darning, chicken picking, sausage grinding, tire re-capping, britches patching, etc? Or does he think he’s got it covered by not throwing away live babies? I really get sick of that Popeish Preachy krap that’s not followed up with “do as I do.”

LOL! The lamestream media really hates it that the Pope now says abortion is wrong....

Attention, CBS morons: Your apparent attempt to disdain the church’s respect for life and godly marriage has failed.

What the dim bulbs don’t understand is that abortion is not a “rule.” It’s part of Church doctrine on not killing.

He just meant we shouldn’t expect people to give up sin first, before we even reach out to them, and that we have to call them with a positive message.

I don’t know why the libs were so thrilled yesterday, because if they had taken the time to actually read what he said, they would have understood immediately.

I’m very glad he clarified this because life is not a minor doctrinal issue.

I’m not Catholic but if you have a church, that follows the Bible’s teachings, then wouldnt it be sacrilegious to go against those teachings?
If you no longer believe in these religious teachings just because you want to modernize your church, are you still a religion?
Seems to me you are no longer a Catholic church if you sanctify sodomy and abortion

I read the interview the Pope gave. It is quite long and frankly is geared towards Catholics who understand the bureaucracy of the Church.

But IMHO, the MSM took him totally out of context (he basically said the most important thing is to show love, rather than get sidetracked) and I thought, ha, they are thrilled, they find a few words, haul them out of context, and think, they have an “enlightened” pope! Maybe he’ll even approve of gay marriage and divorce eventually!

It’s so sad, they don’t realize that’s how Christians are SUPPOSED to think, and many do. We are supposed to stand firm on doctrine, but our language and acts must be the Love of God.

I read a book about an atheist who passed for a Christian in a church for a year. She kept waiting for all the evil hate to come out, and it never did. She was convinced all the love talk was a dodge, but they just kept loving her. Libs believe their own propaganda. They think we hide at potlucks talking about taking over the world and hanging gays... sheesh.

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.... God is love.”

The Pope “encouraged” Catholic doctors not to perfrom abortions. Does he live by the Ten Commandments or the Ten Encouragements?

This is the problem I have with The Catholic Church....They say here “Vatican teaching”

What about the Bibles teaching????

If the Vatican was to announce that all of a sudden that gay marriage and abortion was ok now, that would not change the facts on how God sees this!

I get the impression that Catholics think that The Pope is somehow closer to God/Jesus than anybody else. This is totally false , he is simply a politician and does not have any rights ahead of you or I.

I am not even convinced that he is a Christian, am really not, and I am speaking about any Pope

I personally believe I may have a closer walk with the Lord than the Pope, and yes I am serious

Saw Father Jonathan on Fox News again this morning, only by chance flipping dials this morning.

Jonathan spoke of his gay sister again, read a letter from her I believe. At any rate he said his sister has not been comfortable with the Catholic Churches teaching on her lifestyle, and she is now encouraged.

Well forgive me Jonathan, what about the Bibles teaching, does that even matter to Catholics anymore?? Does the Pope trump the Bible for crying out loud???

Show me in the Bible were sin has ever been soft peddled in hopes people might be won over? Did it happen at Sodom?

Jesus was always loving but he also said go and sin no more, never did he soft peddle sin. Yes I am a simple sinner saved by Grace!

What about the children? You want to soften the message so as not to offend? Bible says in a couple spots, if anybody hurts one of these little ones, would be better with mill stone around neck or not to have been born at all.

Teaching kids that homosexuality is a option or telling them they might be gay and it`s OK to be gay?

Believing that one is gay, is believing the lies of the devil. Nobody was born gay

Oprah Winfrey like Joel Osteen because he wont say that her lifestyle is wrong. He is NOT helping her, Oprah can NOT have a saving relationship with Christ while she denies her sin

The Pope and Joel Osteen are really sending same message, and its a false message.

Maybe The Pope and Joel will release a statement together? Perhaps it will read like this....Joel and I believe that God has changed his mind on a whole slue of issues, we now believe that you can now be saved without forgiveness of sins??

Is that what is next...actually the Pope said last week that non believers can go to heaven
