The recent ruling against stop-and-frisk has emboldened the citys pistol-packing perps.
In the month after federal judge Shira Scheindlins decision that the police procedure is unconstitutional, shootings spiked nearly 13 percent and gun seizures plummeted more than 17 percent, The Post has learned. During the 28 days ending Sept. 8, there were 140 shootings across the Big Apple, compared with 124 during the same period last year, the figures show.
And the number of gunshot victims was up more than 9 percent, with 164 people struck by bullets this year, compared with 150 shot over that month last year.

Just how libs want it so they can blame Republicans.
Only a 13% increase?
Gee. I woulda predicted a much higher rate. Give it time. Soon the murders will reach Chicago style levels.
Who could have possibly seen this coming?
Stop and Frisk ended towards the end of the NYC summer crime season so the number would have been higher if they ended it at the beginning of the summer crime season.
But the intention was good. That’s all that counts.
The answer is to stop violating the Second.
Good point. So instead of crime going down maybe 13 percent after the summer months - it goes UP 13 percent.
The answer is to stop violating the Second.
This is the key right here. Stopping the government from pushing fathers out of minority families is another long-term solution.
It should be a very interesting experiment over time. Detroit’s new police chief has restarted the stop and frisk policy that Coleman Young ended years ago.
Give it 5 years and take a look at the numbers. (Also important to note that open carry is legal in Detroit)
The answer to crime is not to violate the Fourth Amendment.
The answer is to stop violating the Second.
Way too complicated for feral government judges to comprehend.
Predicatable.
This was foreseen, and therefore intended. The left WANTS an armed, angry underclass.
OBAMA'S FAULT!
It is a side effect of Obama's improving economy: more thugs can now afford to buy ammunition! /sarcasm
