Too bad they don’t have a photo of the ‘69 Camaro.
Wonder if it’s restorable.

A few years ago a car was pulled up from one of the lakes around Madison, Wisconsin, with two young guys who’d been missing for 45 years. At least some closure for those families, and hopefully for these families, too.

What the heck are police doing with sonar??? That's military equipment, not police equipment - what happened with ".. to protect and to serve ..."?

Sonar Is useful for this sort of stuff. Also Fishfinders are a form of sonar.

Lots of photos. The Camaro was about torn in half during the recovery and the rest is all but gone due to corrosion.

Trooper George Hoyle, who was driving the boat that located the vehicles Sept. 10, told the Daily News that the two cars were side by side in about 12 feet of water. There must have been some problem with the road to the lake, or markings.
They were last seen on Nov. 20, 1970, in Jimmy's car a blue 1969 Camaro,
In 1973, I worked for Beckham and Custer County as a state trooper, and I heard rumors that sometime in the early '60s there were two or three people in a car, and they were last seen in Canute," Peoples told the Elk City newspaper. "They were headed for Foss Lake and never seen again."
Two cases, separated by nearly 10 years, yet the cars end up side-by-side. What's the common factor?
