There must have been some problem with the road to the lake, or markings.
They were last seen on Nov. 20, 1970, in Jimmy's car a blue 1969 Camaro,
In 1973, I worked for Beckham and Custer County as a state trooper, and I heard rumors that sometime in the early '60s there were two or three people in a car, and they were last seen in Canute," Peoples told the Elk City newspaper. "They were headed for Foss Lake and never seen again."
Two cases, separated by nearly 10 years, yet the cars end up side-by-side. What's the common factor?
I’m guessing a curve in the road or some such.
“What’s the common factor?”
I would guess that there is a boat ramp nearby.
could be a sicko setting up false lighting to trick them?
I'd say road, but that should imply more vehicles being found.
Bad luck, more than anything. The bigger concern is, if they knew these folks were headed to Foss Lake, why didn't they perform a cursory search of the lake?
How deep and how far out from the shore were these vehicles?
Lake currents, high speed, poor lighting, and alcohol. It’s a reservoir with a dam.
