In the year since the Benghazi terrorist attack took the lives of four Americans, House Republicans have continually pressed the Obama administration for answers regarding events preceding the attack, the administrations response, and what has been done to protect the lives of Americans going forward. Those efforts will continue with three House committee hearings this week. Heres more:
The House Foreign Affairs Committee holds a hearing Wednesday, September 18th at 10 am ET titled: Benghazi: Where is the State Department Accountability? The committee notes that four employees placed on administration leave following the attack have recently been re-assigned within the department. This hearing will examine why no one inside the State Department has yet been held accountable for the failures and deficiencies identified in the Benghazi Accountability Review Boards report. [TUNE IN HERE ] The House Oversight & Government Reform Committee holds a hearing Thursday, September 19th at 9:30 am ET with Benghazi Accountability Review Board co-chairs Ambassador Thomas R. Pickering and Admiral Michael G. Mullen, USN (Ret.), members of the Departments security panel that conducted a review, and family members of those killed in the attack. The hearing will focus on the review boards investigation and questions that still remain regarding the attack and the administrations response. [TUNE IN HERE] The House Armed Services Committee will hold a hearing Thursday, September 19th at 3:30 pm ET on lessons from Benghazi and the Defense Departments ability to respond to similar attacks today. Earlier this year, House Republicans released an interim report on Benghazi outlining the findings of five committees of jurisdiction investigating the attacks, and laying out next steps including additional hearings and an ongoing effort to obtain access to witnesses and information being withheld by the Obama administration. It is disgraceful that one year later, even though a number of the terrorists who participated in this attack have been identified, not a single one has been brought to justice, Speaker Boehner said last week, pledging that Republicans will press forward with our investigation until we have answers, full accountability, and justice.
I can’t watch, it’s just not healthy for me to listen to this stream of confusion.
I will come back and read up on what was revealed today.
Cummings makes me want to pull my hair out.
GOWDY!
Mullen interviewed Clinton? I thought they DIDN’T interview Clinton???
Making Mullen look pathetic!
1998 ARB specific recommendation _ The Sec State should personally review the security of embassies and other official premises, closing those which are highly vulnerable and threatened.”
Making Mullen look negligent and astonishingly incurious about the subject he was tasked to review.
GOWDY: Over the last several months there was a review board headed by 2 distingusihed Americans, Pickering and Mullen, who investigated EVERY element of this [Benghazi].
That quote is from Obama.
Did you interview Obama...
Mullen: NO

Mullen’s heads-up to Mills about Lamb being a weak witness -— astonishing!
GOWDY: Wasn’t Lamb a fact witness? The facts pick the witnesses. The State Dept doesn’t pick the witnesses. The FACTS pick the witnesses. Whether she is good ot bad is immaterial. She is a fact witness.
Evasive answer from Mullen -— Mullen EXPOSED!!!
Take deep breaths, and just try to relax.
:-)
It is a sad state of affairs that we are run by such mediocre persons like rep Cummings and many similar. Same situation in Sweden and most other western countries.
Mullen: I take Gowdy’s point. She was a fact witness.
Earlier, Mullen said re: his convo with Mills that “Coaching was not discussed.”
It didn’t need to be discussed. The unspoken conclusion he delivered to Mills was that Lamb needed to be coached!

...... yes that is Hillary’s broom....yes the broom was found in a CIA out building in Benghazi but no Hillry was never in Benghazi or has any info as to how her broom was found in Benghazi.....so yes, we found not need to ax Hillary about an alleged broom
YES! Finally... And I called Massie’s office with my thanks...
Great work there FRiend!!
Still waiting for someone to ask how it could be determined whether resources could have arrived on-site in time if they had no way of knowing how long the attack would last.
I thought one of the Republicans was going to go there, but he didn’t quite make it.

Sigh!
I’d like to see the Massie clip. I was only listening in at the time.
re. weapons
Did Mullen whisper to Pickering “not that I recall” when he was pinned against the wall regarding weapons transfer?
MASSIE asked THE question!
AGAIN, making Pickering look incompetent and astonishing incurious about the subject he was tasked to review “EVERY element.”
Massie: Are you aware of any arms being transferred to Turkey or Syria from Libya?
P: A very, very quick “NO.”
M: Can you give us confidence that that was NOT occurring?
P: Pause, looks away, “um,” mildly giggles, looks up to heaven, smiles, sucks in some air, smiles, looks toward Massie, looks away again, “yeaaa.” shuts eyes, opens eyes, looks toward Massie again, “I’m just not aware of it. I think that I have to say I looked into it, and I am not aware of it.”
WOW!!!!!! THAT WAS A CLAPPER MOMENT!
ju,p back to gowdy for a mn. He POINTEDLY asked if obama had picked up the phone and called ANY of our allies in the area fkr help. That is when cummings started arfuing with Gowdy and Issa and wouldm’ ley mullen or pickering answer. It was garbled.
I MISSED THAT!, rewound. Mullen softly said, “I’m just not aware of it.”
Adding this to post 413 in the moment it occurred:
Massie: Are you aware of any arms being transferred to Turkey or Syria from Libya?
P: A very, very quick NO.
M: Can you give us confidence that that was NOT occurring?
P: Long Pause, looks away, um, mildly giggles, looks up to heaven, smiles, sucks in some air, smiles, ***Mullen softly said, “I’m just not aware of it.”***Pickering looks toward Massie, looks away again, yeaaa. shuts eyes, opens eyes, looks toward Massie again, Im just not aware of it. I think that I have to say I looked into it, and I’m not aware of it.
WOW!!!!!! THAT WAS A CLAPPER MOMENT!
Do you have a link where this can be found in the net?
V. close to the Travis McGee question. This may not be asked! Who has the cross-border authority? Nothing for lowly congressmen to discuss....
If we simply were to go after and produce our own energy we would have NONE of these problems. We should have got a clue about the moslems when they murdered Bobby Kennedy that pumping dollars in to the ME was a stupid thing to do. All that money has done nothing but allow the arabs to point their nutcases at us instead of themselves.
We need to leave the middle east and be done with these idiots. Let them kill each other and let Israel join in to help in that regard.
No American’s life is worth our meddling in the middle east. Not as long as we can produce our own energy without using ME energy. I suggest that we leave Afganistan today and use whatever assets we need to protect petroleum production and distribution in Iraq. I suggest that we move an amount of oil from Iraq to the US equal to the cost of the Iraq war plus 10%. Once those monies are reclaimed I suggest that we continue to take petro out of Iraq until every US serviceman or their families is given 2 million dollars tax free. Once that is occomplished I think we should destroy all oil production assets in Iraq.
