AUSTIN, Texas In a ceremony at the Texas State Capitol, Gov. Rick Perry signed Senate Bill 162, which was passed by the 83rd Texas Legislature to address employment challenges facing military service members, recently separated veterans and their spouses.
The bipartisan legislation requires state agencies that issue occupational licenses to recognize substantially equivalent licenses issued by other jurisdictions including the armed forces and provide an expedited licensure process for these individuals.

Thank you...just read it. Very good news. I need to find more details than was in the article, though. Not sure where to look!
Yeah, some people can’t stand happy residents! I am more grateful every day that I’m a Texan!
It may count. There are some Korean war vets who are eligible. I don’t know all the details of that. Kind of complicated. I have a good friend who was in the Mississippi Air Guard who was on a TDA to Alaska and was waiting on a flight back to the 48 and was asked to help unload some 55 gal. drums from an aircraft. He says they were labeled Agent Orange. And he is getting these benefits. Never set a foot in Vietnam.
I told my wife that I thought he was scamming the system and that I was not going to do that. Just found out that anyone who served in Vietnam during the years I indicated above is deserved these benefits! Anyone!
My wife will be home in just a short-short and will have her give you a URL address she has been using.
Thank you! :)
Thanks for the ping!
Good deal.
Ok RD tells me that you should not click on words that are highlighted in my reply to you. So I do not know what I am doing! LOL
Hi Luv W, I am Mrs Red Devil 232 :-) I can give you the information I have learned so for. Go to WWW.VA.GOV. Start with new to VA. This will give you a listing of qualifications. Before any benefits no matter what it may be, a VA applicaton must be sent in and approved. To see the benefits that would be allotted you, you can look under the qualifications such as “Vietnam Veteran” and it will give a whole list of benefits and diseases that may be covered because you are a Vet. More benefits have been released for Vietnam Veterans and their family that has never been given. The more research I do the more I have found that they have released.

OK so this reply got screwed up some how. See reply 28 or 29
Thank you! I’ll check it out! :)
Getting very crowded with Mexicans and Californians- who, by the way, are fast earning a reputation of being ridiculously aggressive and dangerous drivers, disturbing peace, not that the natives are exemplary.
Come on, if you want to appreciate Texas and not try to change it.
Of course, I tell them all the time how to do it better, the way we do it in New York, ‘cause they love that kind of thing - :).
Sometimes it feels to me like a different planet, it’s so different from where I grew up, but it’s Texas. And if it weren’t here, now, with all this going on, or if it were a blue state, which they’ll try to get it to be (some of the worst liberal academic episodes/atrocities in k-12, illegal immigration ooc, Julian Castro, mayor of San Antonio, liberal rap sheet a mile long), the whole country would have less reason to hope.
Come along.
But, you know, don’t mess.
Yeah, obama is so much better than Perry and thanks for pointing that out.
Sure dodged a bullet there!
As you are an expert on Perry please list all of the things that made Romney a better candidate than Perry and remember to ping me to it.
Thanks in advance.
That’s what I’m thinking...
All I know is I looked at a radar scope for wayyyyyy too long...
Used to run aircraft together at high rates of closure (at +mach rates)...That was hard to do, stressful...
Keeping them apart was a breeze IMO...I could do that, all day, with one arm tied behind my back...
One has to wonder why I didn’t get a waiver on the screening test to get a ride to Oklahoma for the ATC school...
Man, they got to you early!!! ;-)
Please list all of the reasons why Perry and Romney were the only two possible choices.
Feel free to also list all the reasons why Ford and Kia are the only two car makes.
Actually, he was recovering from, and on pain meds for, back surgery.
I wouldn’t wish a campaign debate on anyone in that condition.
He appeared to be silly and forgetful, and he should have suspended his campaign until he was compos
mentis again, but someone must have advised him that time was of the essence.
Whoever did that sabotaged our best hope for a Conservative presidential candidate.
Unfortunately, we ended up with the latest GOP designated loser so that the left could maintain power.
Gut the stinkin’ GOP. They’re the Grand Old Party NO MORE.
Whoever did that sabotaged our best hope for a Conservative presidential candidate.
That is the plain truth, and to this day I haven't gotten over it. It still makes me sick to imagine how different this country would be with a President Perry.
