So sorry to see this! He’s right up there in memorable FReepers. We’ll miss you, blackie — family & friends in prayers at this difficult time.
Thank you for posting this. My good internet friend is gone. God bless him...
RIP Blackie. Prayers to his entire family. If you remember blackie, you’ll always recall his “Molon Labe” in his tagline.
Say hello to Mr. Tonkin, TexasCowboy, redrock, and all the rest of the Freepers we’ve lost.
My best salute.
May peace be with you blackie.
Blackie was like a *second father to me. His advice was always clear and true....he falls into that category....*they don’t make them like they used to*. I valued his words of wisdom. sense of humor, and his devotion to Barb was extraordinary.
I wish I had known them in person. They had to be a *power* couple.
Thanks again.

Rest in peace Blackie.
RIP, Blackie.
I’m sorry to hear it. I hadn’t encountered him here to my knowledge, but I looked up his posting history. We lost a good guy. May he be with God in Heaven, and may his loved ones have the comfort of God upon them.
In honor of your Service to our Nation ...and your Final 'Ride' to be with the Lord.....
Well dang
Another poster here I liked better than average
RIP
He is Home now, and whole again. He has been sick for a long time.
Beautiful, caww...thank you.
How could I have forgotten his MOLON LABE!?
You are right...he loved jazz. One of his favorite artists was Maynard Ferguson.
I asked him years ago who he liked...his answer.....
I also like blues players like Stevie Ray Vaughan, vocalists like Al Hibbler, Billy Eckstine, Sarah Vaughn, June Cristy, piano players like Bill Evans, Dave Brubeck, George Shearing, jazz guitarist like, Charlie Christian, Wes Montgomery, Django Reinhardt, Herb Ellis, Mundell Lowe, Joe Pass, singing groups like The Four Freshman, Hi-Lows, jazz trombone players like, Frank Rosolino, J.J. Johnson, Carl Fontana, Bill Watrous, Kai Winding, and the great Bill Harris with Woody Hermans Thundering heard band of the middle 40s!!
d:o)
He was around FR for a good while. If I remember correctly.
RIP
Yes he was....Jan 1998.
