The Scientific Theory holds that you fit the theory to the facts. Its applied backwards in the world of gun control: you modify or omit the facts to fit the theory. Case in point: California recently redefined what it thinks an assault weapon is and then banned their definition:
New sales of semi-automatic rifles with removable magazines would be banned in California under a bill passed by the Democratic-led state legislature on Tuesday, and those who already own such weapons would have to register them.
[...]
It would classify an assault weapon as any rifle that accepts a detachable magazine that can hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition, and would ban its sale or purchase. People who already own such weapons would be required to register them.
[...]
California, which has some of the toughest gun control laws in the nation, already bans rifles with large-capacity fixed magazines, which cannot be removed. This bill would expand that ban to add rifles that accept large-capacity removable magazines.
CA says nothing about semi-automatic pistols, like the kind used in the Virginia Tech massacre (a Glock 19 and a 22 caliber Walther P22). Semi auto rifles are not OK, semi auto handguns are OK, even though they are used in the vast majority of crimes committed by perps illegally using firearms. (Theyre also the top choice for self defense, too, but media never wants to talk about those statistics.)
CA wants to ban scariness, plain and simple.

This is what happens when the Democrats control the government.
Did California do this or not? The article says “it WOULD....” all over the place. A law is a law and “DOES” in my book.
Well, that includes any rifle a larger than 10-round magazine has been made for--including the Ruger 10-22.
It used to be pretty close to paradise on Earth. Just goes to show you that they can ruin anything.
I would mind their turning paradise into hell considerably less if they just weren't so [fill in the blank] proud of their loathsome accomplishments.
It's not about guns in CA. It's about Emotional manipulation to get Votes.
If it were about guns, they would be banning handguns, but becuase the big guns look so scary, they scare the population into voting Progressive/Liberal.
It's the same old Schtick on a number of levels.
I have stopped reading all the stories about California laws and their creators since most of the things they are promoting will eventually destroy them. I have NO INTEREST in ANYTHING California does and like Odumbo, they too will soon be gone. (They’re already “lost”)
Thanks 2ndDivisionVet.
If all of you Conservatives would just pack up and leave California... in less than five years... those left behind would kill and eat one another and you could go back and start over. Just do it!
“Well, that includes any rifle a larger than 10-round magazine has been made for—including the Ruger 10-22.”
Yes. A lot of long gun owners are in for an unpleasant surprise.
They claim; “People who already own such weapons would be required to register them.”

Compliance with Tyranny is Treason, and Tyranny it is."

The stupid burns.
Quote:”Other bills in the package passed by the Senate would have tightened additional laws, including banning a type of trigger known as a button.” Trigger button?
The anti’s dropped rimfires from the bill for now so the 10/22’s are safe for the time being till next time around.
Whats more sinister is AB711 that is up that would ban all lead in ammunition. It would go along way to banning hunting in California. The threat would be to the lead styphenate in the primers. As it stands now ammo stored right has an almost unlimited shelf life with lead styphenate stabilizing. Without it the ammo goes “bad” after about 6 years or less
Just wanted to know what’s already been done and what might be averted given the potential to still do something about it.
You buying a house or that the taxpayers are buying her one?
No, that was for you to look at homes in the Dallas area. LOL
LOL
When my brother and I considered moving away from Tulsa we chose Dallas, Atlanta and San Francisco for our escape.
By coin toss we ended up in San Francisco Bay area.
Love it here but, as I and my brother accumulate wealth, we are contemplating leaving and moving back to ‘Mericah.
We love to fish, crawl around in the dirt and feel free to be American.
Me? I like tight blue jeans, Justin Ropers and cowboy hats on hot chicks.
