An Albuquerque, New Mexico dad who found a naked prowler peering into his young daughter's room will face charges after seriously beating the peeping tom.
Police say Emilio Chavez III found 29-year-old Dylan Maho naked and making noises near a little girl's window when he chose to exact vigilante justice and beat Maho so badly he was taken to the hospital.
While both men could be convicted of felonies, Chavez could potentially get a longer sentence for what he did to the intruder.
'There's a naked man outside his daughter's window,' Chavez's neighbor Bill Morang told KOAT. 'I think he was well within his rights chasing him down and beating him.'
But the district attorney disagrees. Though police initially let the irate father go free after questioning, he is now charged with aggrevated battery, a felony.

What the heck is wrong with DAs in this day and age? They should have given the father an “Attaboy” and place on a float in the local parades...
A great case for a jury to seek the greater justice and to vote to acquit.
Once again the obama administration’s agenda to render the American people unable and unwilling to defend themselves and their families come to the fore.
The DA is Kari Brandenburg, who also prosecuted a Marine who shot and killed a guy trying to steal his truck and was threatening him with a sledge hammer.
She’s a real prize.
DA’s....what is wrong with the justice system? No jury is going to convict this guy. I imagine the charges will get dropped at some point or he’ll plea down to a lesser misdemeanor and get probation. “no more beating up naked perverts um-kay?”
The mistake the father made was not finishing the job and throwing the body in a pickup truck and driving off into the country somewhere and dumping it.

“condom rappers” ??????????????????
Condoms are now rapping in the streets of Albuquerque?
Or do English newspapers have trouble finding writers that understand the English language?
I suspect the latter, but in this day and age you never can tell.
I predict that the DA (which apparently stands for ‘District A—hole’ in this case) will have a hard time finding a jury willing to convict Mr. Chavez.
Better he should have shot the MFr.
Did she get a conviction?
Yes, but a local radio show raised a huge stink and got the sentence commuted.
Sorry they’re busy filing DUI charges against drivers at a paltry .05 BAC after an unconstitutional ‘implied consent’ law revoked the drivers’ licenses after an unconstituional roadblock stop conducted by police earning overtime funded by Uncle Sam who has extorted states into passing lower BAC levels by threatening to withhold highway funding, all funded by donations from police and public-sector unions and insurance companies who benefit from the traffic running through the court systems, ‘diversion programs,’ etc.
But hey, it’s the land of the free!
The government is a jealous dispenser of justice and will not tolerate anyone encroaching on their prerogatives.
Jury nullification.
By taking action against citizens like this, prosecutors are raising the possibility that citizens will just practice the 3 S’s and just work outside the law.
I hope there’s at least one liberty loving attorney out that way helping him seek a complete pardon, or filing appeals on his behalf to have his conviction overturned.
