Shocked? I sure am. I thought they’d just give him a quiet slap on the hand or ignore him altogether. I never expected he’d receive real consequences for leftist tirade:
CAMPUS REFORM – Michigan State administrators have suspended Prof. William Penn for the remainder of the semester, after he was caught on video going on an anti-Republican tirade on the very first day of his literature class.
In an email to students Thursday morning, Dean Karen Wurst of the College of Arts & Letters, cited his “inappropriate, disrespectful and offensive” comments.
“On Aug. 29, during your Literatures, Cultures, Identities course, Professor William Penn made comments he has acknowledged were inappropriate, disrespectful and offensive and may have negatively affected the learning environment,” she wrote. “Once MSU was made aware of the situation the Office of the Provost immediately began a review.”
“As a result, Penn’s duties have been reassigned, and he will not be teaching this semester,” she added. “A new instructor is being assigned to your course.”
Kudos to Michigan State University for protecting the classroom from political intimidation.
You mean like Ms Fauxcahontas? She typifies the junior college loan officer you do not want reviewing your application. “No” or maybe “Hell No!” is her default response to any loan request.

My pick would be a one year sabbatical in the back woods of North Korea, Iran or the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with the caveat that he have no special protection or indoctrination from those countries' governments.

This is one of the multiple UN gadflies, aka "Special Rapporteur", who go around the world, telling everyone what they are doing wrong. Dr Anaya has been doing this for Canada's "First Nations" people just recently. Perfect mindset for Prof. Penn to continue his rants, right?
I was in a 300 level management class several years ago. The professor started one of these anti-conservatives diatribes. I simply raised my hand and after about a min of not putting it down, the professor stopped and allowed me a question.
“Professor, I’m confused. I thought this was a class on management and the syllabus says that this week we will be talking about Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. How does your current topic relate to the material on the syllabus?”
First, there was the confused look of “What the hell”? Then the expression went to anger of “How dare you” and then a bit of fear crept in as he realized that I had him dead to rights. Lastly the most pleasing expression of “Oh crap, there is nothing I can say to talk my way out of this.” played across his face.
In the end, he let out a strained sigh and say “Yes, we should get back to the material.” We never had another such episode in the class room. He kind of had it in for me after that but I still managed to pull a B in that class.
There's no way MSU would have kept this prick on and it's unlikely he'll return next semester.........just a hunch.
As a Music Major, I ran into that a lot of times, having to buy books written by the professor.
How much do you wanna bet he is being paid during this so called suspension? He has tenure so it seems

I am a Michigan State alum and have to say for once, I’m proud of my alma mater.
Imprisoned of shot for what? C’mon - this guy clearly deserves to get fired, and has no business being in a classroom, but he’s no criminal.
The ACLU will make sure that this does not stand. Now, if he went on an anti-Democrat rant, the ACLU would be nowhere to be seen.
