if everyone at wal-mart magically made 15 dollars an hour the cost of living would probably go up with it. You can’t pay everyone a live-able wage at a low skill part time position.
Shhh, don’t act like you understand supply and demand ... that’s RACIST.
They’re also pretty generous with bonuses. It’s a relatively safe place to work, too.
Walmart should quickly start advertising that they may be hiring in the near future and numerous positions could be available.
Having people line up to hand in their resumes should make those with jobs reconsider.
Fire them. See how they like Zero per hour.
Not if your an indoctrinated moron that believes they are entitled to other people’s money.
I have family working at Boeing and unions made unskilled jobs into 50 to 70 dollar an hour jobs where people literally do 1/4 of a job. These people, my family cannot fathom my small businesses. Their spending and work habits are like the low information voter. Just no clue how to make a dollar work and how that knowledge can generate so much pride and wealth. Working weekends? That should be illegal in their minds.
“SEIU, one of the most insipid unions.”
SEIU slobs tried to disrupt our Tea Party rally back in the spring of 2010 in Greenville, SC. We chased them into a building where they locked themselves inside. They were bawling for the cops to rescue them. The cops showed up - laughing their butts off - and escorted them from the area.
I worked as a “maintenance associate” at Walmart and made better money than most.
True, I had to clean up some nasty messes in the bathrooms but consoled myself by doing it all to the glory of God.
Also when I’d see the leftists acting up I would tell myself that my job was more socially useful than anything they ever did.
Everyone on here bashing these guys don’t realize that there’s not a whole lot of jobs out there. I picture a lot of retired old men and ladies on FR getting their SS money and sitting back and thinking even a good degree and experience means much anymore in this economy.
They are whistling past the graveyard in their ivory towers and it’s disgusting.
They made it in this life it sounds. The suckers are the ones pounding themselves to death for nothing. And that’s about all that’s left of the economy. The lucky and the rest of us that are screwed.
Here in the oil patch, newly minted petroleum engineering graduates are getting $100k per year. Landmen are getting $85k.
If the government would stop punishing my wife and I our small business would add 5 jobs to our little community in the next two years. Maybe twice that many. We have just turtled up and are protecting every nickel now and trying to hang on to the employees we have. We even sold off our dream home, downsized by half with a smaller one and have given up all our luxuries to keep from laying off anyone. Which is BAD for the economy. We no longer go out to eat, travel or give nice gifts. We can’t.
I will go to Walmart today and see what kind of horse-crap this is.
It’s time for my favorite Walmart joke.....
Charley, a new retiree greeter at Wal-Mart, just couldn’t seem to get to work on time.
Every day he was 5, 10, 15 minutes late. But he was a good worker, really tidy, clean-shaven,
sharp minded and a real credit to the company and obviously demonstrating their
“Older Person Friendly” policies.
One day the boss called him into the office for a talk. “Charley, I have to tell you, I like your work ethic, you do a bang up job, but your being late so often is quite bothersome.”
“Yes, I know boss, and I am working on it.”
‘’Well good, you are a team player. That’s what I like to hear. It’s odd though you’re coming in late. I know you’re retired from the Armed Forces. What did they say if you came in late there?”
“They said, ‘Good morning General, can I get you coffee, sir?’’’
I gotta say, working at Walmart was one of the best entry-level, part time jobs I had when I was a kid.
99% of those strikers will not be Wal-Mart employees, judging by some of these past strikes
Most of those holding the pickets will not be Wal-Mart employees
but if all their favorite stores, theaters, restaurants etc etc were closed weekends, they'd be furious
