Menino apologizes after Detroit mayor takes offense
(Newser) – Detroit's a little touchy these days, as Boston Mayor Tom Menino has found out. Menino apologized yesterday for his "poor choice of words" while offering a little constructive criticism about the bankrupt city, reports CBS News. The flap began when Menino told the New York Times magazine that he would "love to go" to Detroit. But then he added this:
- "I’d blow up the place and start all over. No, seriously, when it takes a police officer 90 minutes to answer a call, there’s something wrong with the system. Forty percent of the streetlights are out, most of the buildings are boarded up. Why? Inaction, that’s the problem—leadership."
- Detroit Mayor Dave Bing: "It is extremely regrettable that Boston Mayor Thomas Menino used such an unfortunate choice of words to describe what he would do if he came to Detroit. I would think the mayor of a city that recently experienced a deadly bombing attack would be more sensitive and not use the phrase 'blow up.'"
- Menino: "I made a mistake," he told CBS Boston yesterday. "I apologize." While he stood by the stats he cited, he said he used a "poor choice of words."

“Mumbles doesnt care about Black people.”
If you are referring to Mayor Bing I wholeheartedly agree.
I tried to listen to his response to Boston’s mayor but could not understand a single word he said.
What language is that?

A Kinsley gaffe is when a political gaffe reveals some truth that a politician didn’t intend to admit.[7][8] The term comes from journalist Michael Kinsley, who said, “A gaffe is when a politician tells the truth - some obvious truth he isn’t supposed to say.”[9][10]

I guess what he meant is that he would rebuild detroit by starting from scratch. In which case, he is still deluded. Democrats do not build shining cities. They destroy them.

What language is that? Mayor Bing speaks Ebonics.
Mayor Menino speaks Memonics, hence his moniker, "Mumbles".

I believe Art Laffer named Boston as one of the cities facing disaster if they don’t heed the warnings of Detroit. He basically said that Detroit is well ahead of the game compared to what many cities face.
$97 billion debt in Chicago, $112 billion debt in NY. Boston’s public transportation system (MBTA) alone carries nearly half as much debt as the entire city of Detroit.

If Boston does go under, it will be Mumbles who will be at the helm. I doubt that he even approaches an average IQ.
