Obama on Syria: ‘I didn’t set a red line’ … ‘My credibility is not on the line’
The Daily Caller ^ | 09/04/2013

Posted on 09/04/2013 7:11:39 AM PDT by TexasCajun

President Obama told reporters in Sweden Wednesday that he never “set a red line” when it came to deciding to intervene militarily in Syria.

That claim directly contradicts Obama’s remarks in August of last year, when he announced his “red line” for action in Syria during a White House press conference

Is this intended to give Congress the excuse it needs NOT to vote for use of force in Syria?

Hugh Hewitt insists we MUST attack Syria because it is America’s credibility that is on the line, as represented by President Obama’s drawing of the Redline.

Will Hugh insist Obama can not belatedly erase his red line?

“We cannot have a situation in which chemical or biological weapons are falling into the hands of the wrong people,” Mr. Obama said in response to questions at an impromptu news conference at the White House. “We have been very clear to the Assad regime but also to other players on the ground that a red line for us is, we start seeing a whole bunch of weapons moving around or being utilized.”

“That would change my calculus,” he added. “That would change my equation.”
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/21/world/middleeast/obama-threatens-force-against-syria.html?_r=0

“The president ... has made it clear that the use of chemical weapons or transfer of chemical weapons to terrorist groups is a red line,” said deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes, expanding on Obama’s statement. “He has said that the use of chemical weapons would change his calculus, and it has.”

“As President of the United States, I do not bluff.” (ha........ha)

"I", "me", "mine". This narcissistic pathological liar is incapable of stating anything that isn't about him or by him.

Of course he was the one who set the red line.

Even Charlie Rangel and Eleanor Holmes Norton know he embarrassingly set the red line ... by himself.

The incredible shrinking president.

I've been going through the annals of American Presidential history, and I honestly cannot find a past president who's been a bigger laughingstock both domestically and abroad as Obama. He's far and away the worst president America's suffered through.

Red line or not, the GOP yesterday by supporting his ideas has now taken control of any blame on this matter...no matter how bad it goes, it is the GOPs fault. It is even the GOPs fault now if they don’t vote for war infering they support genocide. Meanwhile, rest assured if things turn out well, it was Obama’s plan all along.

He lies in such a way that everybody really knows he's lying. He is almost always late for appointments leaving others on time waiting and takes many long vacation on other’s wallets at times that are inappropriate and doesn't work that hard according to himself.

And black people are proud of him because?
Seems IMO to be more of an embarrassment to everyone.

Oh I forgot, he's the first, so he must be Christ like. (Pardon me), Mohammad like.

Passage in the House is Pelosi’s responsibility, not the GOP. Boehner and Cantor were smart to get ahead of the issue and signal a “free vote” to their caucus.

Even the MSM understands that Pelosi must deliver a majority of her caucus.

Boehner doesn’t have to lift a finger.

Did anyone watch John Kerry’s testimony? Kerry’s (who served in Vietnam and indeed reminded us earlier this week) main argument was AMERICA’S credibility because WE SAID we would do something.

WHO said we would do something and when? That’s right. Obama said we would do something when they crossed the red line.

Remember, he wanted to lead from behind when this conflict started. Back when we had an opportunity to influence the outcomes to accommodate our national security interests, he didn’t want to get involved. Terrorists filled that void of support for the “freedom loving” citizens (AKA Rebels) of Syria. Now we have to choose whether to blow up some buildings to support our enemies or make America look weaker than it is.

Indeed, any military action at this point is simply symbolic. We do risk, as always, inciting an aggressive missile attack on Israel, which would certainly spur much more military involvement from the US.

Indecision, incompetence, inexperience, inept leadership is what got us in this uncomfortable predicament. The premise that we cannot stand for the use of chemical weapons becomes the ironic “excuse” for Obama to save face at the last minute (on behalf of our great nation). Unfortunately, the damage is done. We can do nothing that will influence world opinion, the outcome of this civil war, save lives now or in the future or create new allies or protect existing allies.

WE ARE SCREWED! The best tactical solution for our national security might be to Nuke the region in a surprise attack that includes Iran, Libya and Syria. Take them all out and reset Obama’s foreign policy strategy for the region. Obviously this is not a realistic political option. But it shows just how dangerous inept leadership can be in the world.

“My credibility is not on the line,” Obama said Wednesday. Instead, Obama said, the international community and the American Congress — who Obama has asked to authorize action in Syria — both face credibility risk
Right after Obama said this, Boehner, McCain, and Graham had to change their Depends.

He has been so coddled by the sycophants in this country that he believes his own press. ‘If I say it, that makes it true ‘ with apologies to R M Nixon for paraphrasing him. But don’t worry, Obama’s Internet wizards always scrub anything that reflects badly on him. The USA is a real House of Cards now. And the Big Bad Wolf is at the door.

“We have been very clear to the Assad regime but also to other players on the ground that a red line for us is, we start seeing a whole bunch of weapons moving around or being utilized.”

He is always saying that. "We have been very clear." Clear as mud until what was said previously was not the best thing to say. So today we will change what we said earlier.
