Appearing on Meet The Press on Sunday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) slammed Secretary of State John Kerry on his willingness to intervene militarily in Syria by twisting his most famous words against him.
"I would ask John Kerry, How can you ask a man to be the first one to die for a mistake?" Paul said, in reference to Kerry's famous words against the Vietnam War to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 1971.

John Kerry, you go in first with all your military experience “reporting for duty” and your purple heart
Wasn’t he in Vietnam? Now we’re going to have dueling Jang Gis Khan vs. the Tollyban speeches...
Oh that’s very good.
and christmas in Cambodia
You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you dont, you get stuck in Syria.
As much of a war hero as he has always claimed to be he should just go into Syria Rambo style and clear all this up without using the military. I would support that.
Don't worry about the rice that got shot into my @$$ and got me a purple heart.
It was only short grain, so it didn't hurt too badly.
Sociopaths simply don’t care.
Time for the elite to spill their blood for Liberty.
I like that Rand Paul brought this up. It's taken forever. When Kerry came back from VietNam, he headed VietNam Veterans Against the War. His first US Senate run in MA included a very strong anti-war platform and a deep suspicion of those who instigate them.
It's odd and out of character for Kerry to (1) not be very suspicious of it being Assad who's responsible for the use of chemical weapons and (2) be speaking about war as a solution to anything and (3) seriously believing that the scope of war involvement can be contained.
I'm wondering if Obama isn't enjoying seeing Kerry in this awkward situation of being hung out to dry. Keep in mind Obama didn't want Kerry as SoS. He couldn't get Susan Rice.
This is going to be one of the biggest problems for Obama, Biden, and Kerry. That is, they’ve demonized and maligned the motives of anyone who has had the temerity to not agree with them for so long that now that they need people on the other side to reach across and work with them it’s going to be nearly impossible. I blame them with their big lies about Bush (he lied to them about WMD, remember?), the domestic opposition (all racists, by the way), and continuous assaults on religious leaders who don’t support abortion and day-after pills for children. Obama is going to have a long way to go after he’s been so disdainful of nearly all Americans to the right of George McGovern.
Every time I see that twerp in a uniform, it makes me want to puke!
Where is our illustrious leader Chuck Hagel these days?

And your CIA hat.
The guy sitting next to Kerry, above, was a phony who I think had never even been in the service.
Right on.
Trust me I know all of this, I lived through all of Kerry’s antics.
