Five years of the Obama presidency have produced nothing but economic "roadblocks" that inhibit growth and job creation, Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick, R-Pa., charged in the weekly Republican address on Saturday.
He accused the Obama administration of "choking the engines of our economy," singling out the health-care reform law, the administration's energy policy and the government's excessive taxing and spending as areas of particular concern.
Republicans have a better plan to "simplify the tax code" and "eliminate excessive regulations," Fitzpatrick said, touting a GOP jobs plan that would break down "the government roadblocks that are hurting our economy."
"People want Congress to focus on expanding opportunity instead of expanding the government," he said.

More like Obama and the marxist Democrats are gang raping America and leaving her to die in the dust.
More like Obama and the marxist Democrats are gang raping America and leaving her to die in the dust.+
And drugging her with all manner of drugs, humiliating her internationally, poisoning the legal system, brain washing all college students, hamstringing the economy, slimeing the entertainment industry, propagandizing the media, making gasoline/diesel hardly affordable, making Zombies of Unions, making doing business unprofitable, destroying the insurance industry, making Martial Law viable, dividing the races on purpose, making lobbyists the new royalty, lifting sodomy to privileged choices, and thats just the start...
Fully tens of other degradations advancing daily..
with the end nowhere in sight..

Tariffs have been falling since the WTO replaced GATT. Can anyone say Bill Clinton?
Waiting for superman is not a liberty saving strategy.
If federalism is the means to restore liberty, it can only happen if we push our states to amend the constitution. Mark Levin has some great ideas.
Yeah, that'll work out reel gud! Any economist will tell you that government pays all the higher prices, not the consumers (who already can't buy the gas to go to the beach!). We surely need more burdens added to the cost of living!
Do I need the /sarcasm tag?
Yes we’re swimming in oil. A pro oil energy policy would send a sell off in the crude oil futures market .If we could pound it down to $60.00 a barrel or would stimulate economies world wide.
To GOP: Do something about it! Start with Obamacare, right now. Oh, and here's an idea. Show some guts for once in your worthless lives!
Otherwise, shut your useless mouths and stop wasting our time while you ASSIST in destroying what's left of the country!
Well they are right about Barry choking the economy. But under GW the GOP had 8 years to simplify the tax code and what happened? Nada. What will happen when they get power again? Nada.
Let's off shore all American jobs and really teach those unions a lesson! /s
Cut the individual income tax by an equal amount. That'll make it revenue neutral, except for the economic growth from more Americans working.
China is already in danger of food shortages. The stories of tons of low wage labor just waiting to crush the USA is BS."
China puts out a story every week for the last 10 years about how they are about to crash. It's propaganda to keep us from reacting to the huge trade deficit with them. I don't care about Chinese food shortages even if they exist. That's their problem. We've got 100 million Americans on food stamps and AP says 4 out of 5 Americans are facing poverty. This didn't happen because of Obamacare. Remember the 2008 banking crash happened while Bush was still in office. This is the result of decades of bad policy. Our stores are full of Chinese made goods and Americans are out of work.
"Automation has replaced many manual labor jobs."
If unemployment was high and the stores were full of American made goods, I'd say Automation was the cause. But the stores are full of Chinese made goods.
"We need 21st century jobs, not 1950s jobs. Unfortunately, our horrible education system leaves us unprepared for such jobs, even if they did exist."
No this is pipe dream crap. This is Obama's claiming he want's only high paying jobs while Americans sit out of work. We are innovating and shipping the new jobs overseas just as fast as we innovate. And we will continue to do so as long as the import tariffs stay low.
It's both parties. Nixon was the one who normalized trade with China. Neither party has an economic plan. Both parties are afraid to point to international trade as the problem. In some cases it may be apathy caused by putting globalization interests above American interests. But I suspect a lot of it, is simply fear of being labeled a protectionist. And fear of going against the "free trade" ideologues.
A friend's tax attorney said he loved it when politicians talked about simplifying the tax code. To simplify the tax code they always grandfather the decisions made under the old code. So then you end up with multiple methods. Every time they try to simplify it, just makes it more complicated.
Besides you can eliminate all taxes and all regulations and you still won't compete with China's $2/day labor rates.
Lower the individual income taxes by an amount equal to the tariffs. That'll make it neutral on the average consumer while providing some protection to American industries.
Our founding fathers viewed this as taxing foreigners for the privilege of doing business in our country. They viewed it as maximizing liberty because it helped avoid taxing the American citizenry.
It served our country well for it's first 190 years.
