Can you imagine if this nut case McCain was the one making the decision. Remember the ending of the Dead Zone,
"Mr. Vice President....Mr. Secretary.....The missiles are flying.....Hallelujah.....Hallelujah!"

What the republicans should do now is demand Obama act in some humanitarian way. Own the humanitarian angle, push for it before the Dems do,,,demand Obama go to the UN and ask the world for humanitarian relief,,,and offer a plan to HELP the Syrians, at least on paper.
The GOP should forcefully be pushing that angle right now!

if congress is interested in the truth. It'll take another dastardly deed, like another gassing, or something similar that can be useed to pull the trigger on Syria. Meanwhile, Iran is busy as bees building "a powerful sword".

He was set to attack until he started reading the polls and hearing from Dem congressmen and others who called such an attack an impeachable offense. The vote in the British Parliament and the failure to get any real support from NATO (except France,) and the Arab League made it clear that he had no international or domestic support.
So Obama being Obama decided to shift the buck to Congress. He wins personally no matter what Congress decides. The big loser is US prestige and influence around the world. He has shown that the US will fold under pressure. Obama prefers to lead from behind.

How many Congressmen will support military action against Syria with over 80% of the American public against it?
Congress operates in a different reality than you or I do. For instance, John McCain finds it perfectly acceptable to offer support for Al Qaeda in Syria while we are fighting them elsewhere.
I wouldn't dispute that Obama goes against Congress if he wants to, and you are correct, it provides him an out for not doing anything, since he should never have been drawing mythical lines in the sand anyways.

the way to handle this.
first of all, drag it out as long as possible
give Obama a choice.
for approval of killing, he must also accept.
reduce White House funding by 2/3rds.
or
change something in Obamacare...
perhaps end the perpetual funding of Obamacare

I don’t think Obama wins, no matter how the MSM spins it. The world has already seen him, front and center, out from behind the skirt of Congress.
no way,,I think his actions to this point have been heinous and they are all 100% his.
OBAMA BUILT THIS!

Yep. Christopher Walkin. Great movie!

McCain doesn’t represent Congress. The vast majority of them consider reelection to be their number one priority. The debate in Congress will be one of posturing and positioning.

At least there will be a record. A record is necessary of the actions of support or nonsupport for this person seeking war against the regime of assad. I do not like assad and I do not like the other side (truth is I like the mb side less than assad), the ones our nation would be performing this action for should zer0 attack syria. Neither side is worth our treasury. Let allah sort it out. What national interests does America have in Syria? The truth is none.
Dear Israel:
Love you folks dearly. Sleep well tonight. God will be on the tops of the hills if zer0 breaks his word tonight.

Vladimir ? Of course it's a friendly call... Listen, if it wasn't friendly... you probably wouldn't have even got it...
Well, I'll tell you. We'd like to give your air staff a complete run-down on the targets, the flight plans, and the defensive systems of the planes...

Honestly, this is precisely Rushs theory on Obama. Go to the sidelines, act as though he has nothing to do with anything, then blame everyone else. In this case, other countries and congress even before any debate.
Exactly. For all the rent free living Rush does in Barack’s head, the Impotus doesn’t actually LISTEN to his show! He plays into Rush’s hands oblivious.

John Bolton. “Absolutely stunning! The weakest president since Buchannan. We are watching the loss of influence of America in the middle east. He is unlikely to get the votes in congress but he says he has authority to act. Tehran knows it has a green light to continue with their nuclear weapons. He has compounded his redline mistake twice over today. He is unsure he is even willing to do it unless he gets approval from congress. He should call congress in right now if he is so sure he should go into Syria.”

I believe images of our vacant congressional seats, while the UK debated war, probably had more to do with putting off this attack than anything else.
Freepers deserve some of the credit...
