If your looking for a goog burger and the 5 guys burger chain is in your area I would recomend it. A little pricey but the food is fresh...............and best of all the staff hasn’t got an attitude, If u know what I mean. ;)

You can get a great meal at a Chinese place for $12. Almost as fast too.

Hubby and I have a standard Wednesday night ‘dinner night’. We spend between $10-15 and don’t eat fast food. We eat at places that have buy one get one free, Chinese food for 2 is $10, etc. We also use restaurant.com and coupons. The only things cheap at fast food places is their $1 menus and they are not appealing to us at all.

Holy carp, what'd you buy? $1 menu two spicy McChicken sammiches, any size drink for $1 and large fry for about $2 and change. Net with tax is under $6, under $5 if you buy the small fry.

The price point of a Big Mac meal is right on the tipping point where I’ll just go to five guys or a local bar/grill instead. These days when I go to McDs it’s with my kids and I get a dollar McDouble.

At $15 an hour the dollar menu is going to go away. And McDs will lose even more of my business ..

We sometimes went to the McD’s near us because it was convenient on a busy day, but you’re right, it’s no bargain anymore.

We moved and the big supermarket a few blocks away has a Chinese food section, a hot food station, salad bar, sandwich and pizza section and there’s with a nice table area if you want to eat there. Why go to McD’s anymore when I can get a variety of foods for about 5-6$ a meal? And on Tues you get 2 slices of pizza for 1$.

There’s even an area with a variety of the foods, from chicken to Chinese, pre-packed, so you can come in, pick up a meal, and be out in about 3 minutes.

I refuse to eat at McDonalds, overpriced and small portions. The portions are half the size they were 20 years ago, and poorly made. Others have gotten me to eat there a few times over the last couple years and I'm shocked at the much smaller size of items, while they cost much more.

On the other hand, I really enjoy sandwich shops like Subways, healthier and more cost effective considering you're getting more nutritious real food.

I just bring in leftovers from home, and nuke them in the office microwave. Even cheaper.

On road-trips, I often just bring a cooler with cold cuts, yoghurt, and drinks. The fast food in highway rest areas are generally high-price and low-quality.

I just got a Jimmy Johns menu here, in Grand Rapids;
and their subs are$5.49. Okay,Then, let’s throw in a jumbo Kosher dill pickle for $1.19. Sounds like a done deal to me.
