On Wednesday, Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley, a Democrat who will likely run for president in 2016, said the lives of "people of color" are valued less than those of whites in America.
Speaking on the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech in Washington, O'Malley said there is "too much apathy" in America "when the lives of people of color are too often valued less than the lives of white people."

True ‘nuff. Blacks hate their own lives worse than whites hate their own lives.
The only time the MSM ever seems to give a crap about the lives of Black people is when they are killed by white people. As long as Black people are killing each other, their lives mean nothing to the MSM or the democrat party.
>> he lives of “people of color” are valued less than those of whites in America.
Absolutely true!
But the unasked and unanswered question is, “WHO is determining the relative value?”
The answer: blacks.
They abort their babies and kill their own in urban violence at at a rate several times that of non-blacks.
Five-month-old Joshua Summeries of Zion, IL
Was killed by his mother's boyfriend.
Authorities are searching for Joshua's body here.
Pure evil.
This is the crap I am stuck with here in Maryland, a single state party.
Who in GOP counters these themes?
I think he’s racist to believe this.
Let’s properly edit this...
“The lives of ignorant hateful people of violence and a separatist ghetto mentality are valued less than those of civilized people of all races in America.
There, that’s better.
A top contender for “Worst Governor”.
The other nominees are, Pat Quinn (IL), Dan Miloy (CT), Moonbeam Brown (CA), Deval Patrick (MA) and Lincoln Chafee (RI).
And the Oscar goes to......
Did Martin O’Malley explain why blacks value their lives less than whites value theirs?
The guy sounds to me like a bona fide racist.
Didn’t take long for Marty to wear his kneepads out
Great post and great questions. Just where were the achievers anyway? Oh wait, they’re conservatives! But yeah, bring on Bastard Al and his ignorant racist rants. No wonder kids are destined for crap lives with this sort of “leadership”
Grow up and get lost losers
Well I am glad that Governor OMalley had the temerity to stand before the people of color and state the undeniable fact that that there is too much apathy in America when the lives of people of color are too often valued less than the lives of white people."
And it is especially appropriate that he said this to the people that show the most apathy where the lives of people are concerned and the people that can do the most to change that fact namely people of color themselves.
When you consider that people of color have the highest abortion rates in this country, that people of color have the highest illiteracy rates in this country, that people of color have the highest murder rates in this country, that people of color have the highest incarceration rates in this country and that people of color have the highest high school drop out rates in this country who but the people of color have the power to change these facts for the better?
But the apathy of the leadership of people of color seems to be set in stone. Black leaders such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson rarely ever mention things such as black on black crime, the high abortion rate for people of color or the high rate of illegitimate births for people of color.
If so called Black Leaders do not speak of these problems in the black community and urge people of color to change their behavior on these matters does this demonstrate apathy on their part or does it indicate that they are satisfied with the situation as it is?
When Black Leaders blame failing public school systems for the illiteracy rates in the black communities and yet black parents fail to ensure that their children do their home work; is it the school that is failing or the black community? When the high school graduation rates in black community school is abysmally low is it the fault of the school or the fault of black parents to even make their children attend school?
If there is apathy in this country about the lives of people of color I would suggest that the apathy is most prominent in the black community because the responsibility for changing the life of anyone lies first and foremost with that with that individual.
If a community wishes to improve its lot who better to make those changes but that community its self?
If a community needs to change who better to lead that change but the accepted leaders of that community?
Until the black community accepts that the root of their deplorable condition lies in their own community and that root is imbedded in their culture they will remain imbedded in the squalor the death spiral of their community will continue. Personal responsibility for ones own future is the only way that anyone can ever improve their lot.
I hate this state.
Welcome to OweMalleyLand.
“What’s in your wallet?”
THERE IS NOTHING IN THE WORLD MORE RACIST THAN A LIBERAL DEMOCRAT... NOTHING!
Aw, how sweet. Little Marty Owe'Malley is practicing his Big Important Presidential Sound Bites!
Pardon me while I go wretch!
The proof is undeniable. It's 'people of color' who overwhelmingly kill each other - be it at the end of a gun or the end of a cannula.
Mr. Mayor, it isn’t white people that are killing all those blacks. Guess the blacks think just like you.
