Correct. I won’t see that movie either. And Hanoi Jane is not the reason.

I won’t see it based on the race card Oprah played as she made a big deal promoting the movie while at the same time claiming she was discrimanated in Sweden.

We know that when Hollywood produces a movie with Ronald Reagan in it that he and Nancy will be portrayed in a negative light. Add Oprah Winfrey, who sees a racist in very white person she meets, and put the despicable traitor, Hanoi Jane Fonda in a role as Nancy Reagan and this film is guaranteed to be a total waste of time for anyone but the hardcore left, who are too small in number to make it successful. I hope Oprah and the studio lose big. It may not cripple them financially (Oprah is worth 3 billion) but it might at least send a message to the Hollywood left that Americans are fed up with their leftist tripe masquerading as ‘entertainment’.

I hated my years in Hollywood.. Added to the many reasons was my inability to meet this bitch and tell her to her face how much I despised her, and her despicable actions against the true hero’s of our country..

However, I never passed up an opportunity to tell others, that I worked with, my intentions.. Funny, how I never paid a penalty for my outspokenness.. I’m not all that sure her mucky-muck comrades didn’t sink as low as she did in their imbedded hatred for this great nation..

However close I came on several occasions, I never met her.. Pity

That was the intent of the whole movie, to discredit Reagan and Nancy. Why else would they cast Jane Fonda?...........

My roommate at the time was a President’s Award Scholar in nuclear engineering at Texas A&M. He switched to Petroleum Engineering during the spring semester of his junior year because he believed the nuclear industry would be shut down as a consequence of the China Syndrome movie.

I thought he was crazy. No one will believe a movie, I thought...

I was wrong.

While it’s a shame you never met her I won’t give up hope that she’ll met a fitting end.

“After a storm of protest by Republicans...”

What a crock of crap, even from Newsmax.

Check out the pattern of movie openings and by the second or third week they drop off. Folks go to other new movies. Also, check out the number of theaters. Openings have a tendency to start on LOTS of screens (two per theater or more) then dwindle.

I’ll bet that the movie gets an Academy award nod along with Oprah even if it is garbage. Mooch will no doubt be on hand to give out the statue. I refuse to see it because of Fonda and Oprah.

Ridiculous nonsense. Nowadays, plummeting by ONLY one third is considered excellent audience retention.

That would be true, if we knew what the real numbers would have really been if they didn't play with the initial, premier weekend numbers.. Hollywood, et al, has an invested interested in driving up the Conservative negatives, especially before an important election cycle..

I know as an author, Oprah, bankrolls her books to achieve a ranking on the NYT's best seller list to get them rolling.. She's not alone in this practice, and in the motion picture industry, production companies, do likewise..

Check out the Responses from the Movie sites and witness the number of paid responders to glorify a movie.. They only seed the first 2-3 weeks, dependent upon the promotion marketing budget, after that the truth usually surfaces..

If you’re arguing that the opening weekend numbers were inflated, then you’d expect the 2nd weekend drop to be steeper. If you’ve got some other conspiracy theory why the 2nd weekend is worse than it looks, that changes nothing: the article is still based on an asburd premise, being that a 30% drop is terrible when it’s actually extremely good.

The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat.

He is on record as stating that he never met Jane Fonda while a POW........Email accounts of this alleged encounter are bogus.

NAM-POWs Want to Set the Record Straight About Hanoi Jane

I've received this same email over the years but not until it was posted here that I finally decided to find out what the facts are. It appears that email has exaggerated the facts of that Fonda meeting with the POW's......

I have no reason not to hate the commie sympathiser for her actions during the war but I'm not about to accept event embellishments and lies in order to propagate and spread my distaste for her.........

“But Oprah should get nomination for best supporting actress.”

I hope she doesn’t get it just because she could stand a lesson in humility.

More than 50% of BO per theatre on same day second week.

In other words. a fairly typical start for a successful box office movie.

I am film nut...and I can assure that this flick is going nowhere!!! It received tremendous hype in advertising and by Oprah playing the race card!!! It will topout at about $65M!!! The real moneymakers were both sleepers, “42” and “The Help” with little hype & advertising, but great word-of-mouth from rank and file viewers. “42” was good for $100M, and “the Help” was good for $170M. Both films did not have any super stars in their cast. I saw both films and loved both of them for just telling the story.

I am an old Brooklyn Dodger fan and was seven years old when Jackie Robinson came up to the majors. Once, while at Ebbets field seated near the third base line, I witnessed Jackie steal home safely!!! To this day I can still see him running with his pigeon toe feet toward home plate with 34,000 fans on their feet screaming!!! “42” was near to true!!! Robby was just simply a great American, no matter what color he was!!! Obama....Oprah....Jane Fonda, Harvey Weinstein, etc...cesspool drainage!!!

“The Butler” could have been a great period film. it is not and never will be!!! Playing the race game is getting mighty old!!! Just tell the story without the political correctness....and it will do just fine!!!
